Lame title, yes. I am aware.
Hello. Thank you for actually looking at this topic!
I have to admit, I am not a very good artist. That being said, I would really appreciate some helpful critiques on what I need to improve on. I already think I know some areas to improve on, but I would like an outside opinion.
IF you decide to try and help, here's an up-front warning:
Most (all) of my art is in the anime/manga-inspired style. I have recently tried to draw realism, but it was a crash & burn type of thing that I decided not to post on here.
Please, if you DO decide to try and help, do not be afraid to rip the drawing to shreds. I know I need to improve, and blunt truth is better than anonymous favorites, watches, and "this is really nice"-type comments.
Thank you for considering critiquing my art, and I apologize in advance for not being online often (I need to sign off shortly), because I get online mainly at school (where I am now).
A million thank yous,
~Tanrei

Once I get some free time to dig out my scanner again, I might post the one little shot I made at it.
And thank you for any help you may give =)

Anime (or manga, more appropriately) inspired art is, don't get me wrong, a fantastic style. I for one love the medium and, I wont lie, it even seeps into my art.
However, manga-style art, you must remember, is a simplified style and because of this, it's a very bad idea to draw in this way to begin with. Everyone will tell you "Go back to the basics!" "learn anatomy!" and... they're right. But I digress. Anime styled art is fine, don't let any tell you otherwise, but you must MUST learn basic techniques (anatomy, perspective etc.) as well.
Go get some books, draw from life, join some classes (if you can find a good teacher, this is well and truly the best way. I didn't learn much at college due to some crappy teachers, but my painting teacher was amazing. The stuff I learned from him will stay with me forever!)and study the old masters (Matisse, Da Vinci, Monet, etc. Don't force yourself with this one. Find an artist you like and analyze their work).
Don't give up on your style, but if you want to progress you have to learn...
That said, if you'd like me to rip apart your work, I'd be more than happy to help
