Rokan: Looking for artist for sci-fi webcomic. (unpaid) - Sep 29th 2009, 2:31AM

WARNING: Lengthy post ahead.
Hey. Alright, so... I've probably done this, like, a million times before. (on other sites, I just discovered this site) And every single attempt has failed. (either by sudden business, dissapearance, or other reason on the artist's side) I try to teach myself to stop, but I never learn my lesson and now I find myself wanting to start a webcomic.
Since I can't draw well to save my life, that means I have to find an artist to draw for me. Not an easy task, seeing that I'm poor and can't afford to properly hire an artist. So, I end up begging shamelessly for a free artist in places such as this.
I know it's a rough market out there, and I know there are few who would actually consider doing something like that, and yet there is a giant number of people who write comic scripts and seek free artists. Thus, the odds of getting an artist for this comic idea I'm about to explain are very low. Even lower are the chances the artist will actually stay.
Though I don't bear any contempt towards those who leave. I understand that people have lives and that it takes priority over a simple webcomic.
Now that was a mouthful, wasn't it? And I haven't even gotten to what the comic story will be about. Well, I'm getting to that right now.
This story is set nearly 1500 years into the future. Earth is now a unified planet. There are no countries, only provinces, which are all governed by a single government. The Earth itself is actually part of a series of unified planets known as the Imaltian group, with the planet Imaltia the highest power in the galaxy.
But the Earth wasn't unified peacefully, it was the result of the Imaltian intervention of a long war that had been going on, and was threatening to destroy the planet.
The story itself takes place 1000 years after that war. A young man who only refers to himself as "Narxon" lives in the Earth's Capitol. He is content with his life and rarely speaks about his past. His roommate gets a job off-planet and leaves, so Narxon, in a search for another roommate, bumps into a woman named Aaramina, who becomes his new roommate. She is a strange, enigmatic person, with an odd personality to boot. Narxon describes her as "beautiful, yet creepy." But what Narxon doesn't know is that she is a remnant of the war from 1000 years ago. And what's more, Narxon soon finds himself in the middle of a conflict involving a young boy named Terry, who has been given an extremely dangerous power, and uses that power to destroy -and kill- everything in his path.
The artist I seek must have the ability to produce at least one full page per week. Also, this comic will, at times, have a bit of gory scenes within, so be prepared for that. Also, as this is a sci-fi comic, the artist must know how to draw sci-fi themes, such as a cities, ships, robots, weapons, etc. I don't care about the style: American, manga, personal styles... any style you think will fit the comic is fine with me. It can be colored or black and white. Its all up to the artist's preferences and abilities.
When it comes to script writing, I write the script as it goes along. So right now, I don't have a lot of pages. Just a few for now, (mainly because I don't want to take the time to write a full script and not be able to find an artist for it. But also because sometimes I get new ideas along the way. That's just how I roll.)
If I haven't already scared you away now, and if you do happen to be interested in this project, just drop a line and I'll give more details and character descriptions. I have AIM, MSN IM, Yahoo IM, and Skype, just so you know.
Did I leave out anything? Hopefully I didn't. My fingers are sore from typing out this monster.

Hey, I want to help you finally realize your dream of creating this comic. Yeah, I'm a college student and I work, but I'd rather put my art to something useful instead of drawing random things. If you'd like, send me a scene for me to draw and I'll give it a shot. If you like what I come up with, I'll work with you for as long as I can as long as something big doesn't come up in my life.
