I mean come on it's so unfair that a majority if not all featured and popular work is always music, flash, a picture or some other thing. Most writers, like me pour their heart and soul into their work and we get the short end of the stick. Is anyone else out there with me or what. People skim through our stuff and put us off to the side. Now that has got to piss off some of us writers right?

WRITE SOMETHING GOOD AND MAYBE PEOPLE WILL PAY ATTENTION TO YOU.

Just a thought.

A few people already like some of my writing. But either way I like what I write. I just thought that all writers deserve more attention not just me! So Soooorry.

SA lacks competent writers, heh... and your in no position to say anything as your writing isn't even remotely acceptable as a feature.
B.t.w.: lol @ chapters being single paragraphs of text...

If your writing is any good, then you shouldn't have to say anything.
You said something so, you're out of the run.

we should make upvotes worth more on writing pieces.

Part of it might be that with visual art, you can take a quick glance or you can take a longer, more in depth look, but in order to really read something you have to stop and read it from beginning to end. Now that my main thing is visual art, I carry a portfolio with me everywhere I go so I can shove it under people's noses, and many times they take the portfolio from me and actually thumb through it themselves. That's something I couldn't do when my main thing was poetry, there was no way I could get people to stop and read 30 poems the way I can get them to stop and at least glance at 30 pictures. Which is not to discourage writing, (I'm still a writer too) that just might be why, on an art site, it gets less attention. If people don't pay attention to someone's writing, that doesn't necessarily reflect on the quality of the writing :).

It's really hard to get people to read writing unless they've come to do it on their own accord. As animagusurreal said, people have to actually sit down and devote time to it.

Sadly, SheezyArt is primarily a picture site--that is, when people come here, most of them want to see pictures. Pictures, as Anima said, can be looked at quickly. That does, in a way, apply to writing (it's called "skimming" or "speed-reading". I imagine you're all familiar with it.) On top of that, most of the writing I've seen here isn't exactly what you'd call "readable" material. This isn't to say there aren't good writers around the Sheeze.

The argument that "write something good, and maybe people will pay attention to you," does not necessarily hold. Part of it is how many watchers you have, how many people visit your gallery when you comment on them, and how willing your watchers are to read, comment, and rate your work. I've seen a few of my friend's poems get front page briefly, though I've never seen any writer get selected.

Musicians, writers, and visual artists all sort of run in their own circles here. That makes sense, given their common interests.

But no, there aren't any good writers on sheezy. There just aren't.

I agree with you to an extent, Mu. Many of the writers here are in a transition stage. They're not quite good, but they're certainly not bad writers (that's about where I am now). A lot of the "good" writers will be found on writing sites such as AW or WForg or WFcom.

What the cock are AW, WForg and WFcom?

Whoops! Sorry. So used to hanging around those sites I forget not everybody knows what the acronyms stand for.

AW: AbsoluteWrite

WForg: writingforums.org

WFcom: writingforums.com

Again, my apologies.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that there aren't good writers here on SheezyArt. I just joined myself, but have yet to really start looking for more writers. In fact, I'm having a hard time navigating the site, but that seems to be the norm from what I read on other threads. What counts as "good" writing is absolutely subjective, and is up to the opinion of readers, editors, and of course, the author. If the writers here really want some feedback from writers they would also post their work on sites that give them feedback, such as Writer's Cafe (I believe that the name of the site...)

Way to resurrect a nearly-a-year-old topic.

I kind of agree with you, cause I'm a writer myself, but you can't expect everyone to suddenly like your stuff. People should join sites like this just to share, not to parade around saying they want their art looked at.
Even though the person who commented first was kind of rude.
