channel cat: It has come to my attention that there is general displeasure with deviantART by some of our users. We don't condone any anti deviantART statements or images on the site.

Kind of you to extend the olive branch like that, however I would remind you that this is the real world, not a game, movie or book. Kind, polite, thoughtful people do NOT win in the end, ever. End of story. You should wait for them to be first to take action against their members otherwise it will be one sided and I assure you Jark, the DA owner, won't give half a thought about being kind in return.

channel cat: Many of our users are members of multiple art websites and we encourage our users to experience as much art as possible.

Yes, and as your members may be members of many other sites, they also have many different opinions. This site may be growing quickly, but I believe it has a great deal to do with the fact they are able to express their opinons here and are not harming anyone in doing so. The TOS for SheezyArt already makes you indemnified against any sort of harm caused by uploaded artwork or posted opinions. I agree with the idea of being against hate-art or flames, etc. However if you plan on stopping it against DeviantART, where it is perfectly understandable that people are upset(and it's not at all uncommon for arguments to spark up between those loyal to one site and those loyal to another), you're going to need to make it against the rules to flame anything and everything. No flaming Microsoft. No flaming Macintosh. No flaming Pokemon. No flaming, insert-topic-here. Don't make the mistakes DA's admin did, first thing to watch for is making favorites.

channel cat: We will be speaking with deviantART and other community oriented art websites about forming partnerships that benefit all parties and the online art community as a whole.

DeviantART is all about the money now, hope you have some otherwise partnership will not ever come close to happening. If anyone, anywhere, says it's about the artists, and I had the ability, I would slap them with all my strength.. I have watched countless DA members get harassed and have nothing done about it. I've watched theft happen with no resolve from the HelpDesk Admins. I myself have been targeted for this or that and even "I" have been punished for being harassed. The Admin there, while they try to say they don't, quite obviously do play favorites as I've seen people they don't like(easy to read from some posts they make) get wronged and treated illy or ignored when help is requested by them.

mkinne: as for "sticking up for their friends"; deviantART is fairly clear that issues between the artist and the administration should be between just those two.

Oh? Clear where? I've not read that and I've gone over each page many times to make sure I had the rules down pat and could figure out what to do when this or that happens. Please, link me, I'd love to read what you're talking about as I've never once seen it(perhaps it's new).

mkinne: deviantART cannot remove anyone from anyone's watchlist. it is not YOUR watch list, it is the other users'.

Ok, this I have read and knew about, however, when someone repeatedly flames or harasses someone they are watching, they should not be allowed to watch them anylonger. A friend of mine has been watched, and flamed quite often by people, and I know s/he has gone to the Help Desk requesting something be done about flamers/harassers and had nothing come of it. Flat out ignored. Ticketing systems would require it get looked into at SOME point, however after several months with absolutely no reply in any way, it's obvious the system is either flawed(which I doubt as the Admin love to go on and on about how good the website is), or the Admin are flat out corrupt and don't "uphold" the "laws" they are supposed to.
