Words on the text area backgrounds isn't a great idea, for sure. Your eye has to fight to decide what to read. You might also want to consider something more generic if you use text greetings since not everyone on a globally accessed site will be Christian and/or celebrate Christmas. Something like "Season's Greetings" or "Happy Holidays" pretty much covers everybody and doesn't leave anyone feeling unwelcome.
