Yet another illustration for my literature class. We were given a selection of haiku's, and required to create an illustration for one of our choosing. Kat's blessing to include her Alejandro, and a whole lot of mechanical penciling later, and voila.
The original poem:
Kajimakura
Nezame ni fukaki
Asaborake
tume mo ato naki
Fune o shi zo omou
Translated:
Pillowed above the oars
And deep in sleep until dawn breaks,
I wake to find no ship:
The one that bears my longings in the dream
Has borne me in the daylight from this boat.
Lost my ship-drawing virginity care of DA's gothika-stock
