I don't know how you can have the patience to work on the same piece for that long. I really can't help but admire that. If I let something go for weeks, or sometimes even days, I'll get distracted with other projects and it'll never be done.

I can really identify with you; I've been working on a novel since April of '05 and there are periods when it's just a slog, as much as I love my characters. But this is really amazing that you've completed it.
