I like the idea of it, but the cuts down the face don't seem quite right, to be honest. The hair is excellent, however.

Very awesome. But the cuts on the face seem weird... Like your brain isn't sure what to do with them.

RiDE Says:

Oh wow... that's awfully good and pretty cool, but really really (REALLY) painful looking! Poor thing :<

Lark Pash Says:

Ouch...the pain!

Minstrel Ayreon Says:

Pretty cool concept!

The one thing I think isn't working is, it's hard to tell if they're cuts or scars/deformities. If they're scars, one would probably not expect them to be open wounds, or at least not to be that red; there would've been some attempt to scar over. If they're cuts, then one would expect lesser damage (bruising, swelling, other trauma) to the tissue surrounding those cuts instead of going straight into them.

But the pose and general expression are great.

KimmerZ Says:

Well they are meant to look more like burns...open wounds kinda thing.. but I guess if you look at it from the outside..it looks to clean around the wounds/burns huh? that is my problem.. on alot of my art I think. It is too perfect to be gory..but if I do too much, I always seem to over kill.

Kerrigore Says:

I love the expression here. It is quite powerful and the title of the piece is appropriate I think. The strong colors are an emphasis, giving the wounds a rather beautiful look instead of making them look like simple gore. Well done.
