For the most part I figured this site would have light censorship with all the scary dog men waving their winkies at me and what not. This evening a submission that was cool on DeviantART was trashed and I received a warning. Now I won’t argue weather this is artistic or not that is VERY subjective. However I will argue that it is in no way in appropriate. Network television censors say at least Ľ of the butt must be covered for it to be acceptable for television viewers. Comedy Central is often the only one to do just that most other channels have higher censorship standards. However 3/4 of the human butt is acceptable. In the above image if you were to picture the butt as a pie you would notice 1/3 of the butt is covered. This would be fine for Fox even! But for some reason it’s not ok compared to scary dog man penis. The biggest problem with censorship today is inconsistent standards which sheezy has just demonstrated. I just finished a paper on such a topic for my English class yesterday. I do not expect anything to change, as the photography following here seems pretty weak. I’m just putting my opinion out there and wanting to see if anyone has one to fire back at me. All thou thus far the comments I have gotten on here are simple at best. Prove to see sheezy artist have intelligent opinions too!

I will woof, when it comes to photography, that I understand why any online community would be reluctant to get started with it. The way people function if you give them an inch they take a mile.
On the other paw... my own belief is that human beings should grow up and stop being so insecure of their bodies and the sexuality of all beings. We are what nature and God made us and to be ashamed of it, in my opinion, is sacrilegious… it goes against reason. No one is going to save anyone's moral ethic through censorship... to believe so is pure ignorance. I think these things serve more to harm a person's sense of self worth and put another brick in their wall than it does to serve society in any way at all.
I don't think showing the entire human body is even a problem… let alone the entire butt. In the movie "The Bible" both Eve and Adam walked away from the camera with bare butts showing… and this was aired primetime on a major network back in the 70's.

I think PERHAPS they don't realize you're of age, Qiqi :3 (new nickname, heehee... don't mind me!) Because there's nothing illegal about most yaoi/hentai but if they are dumbshits and don't know your age just from looking at the picture they might think you aren't OF age, because you have such a youthful pretty face, you know.
Because if you WERE (there are girls here at SA who ARE underage who DO post revealing photographs), and it was posted, they could get a lot of sued, so they don't take the time to look up the information.

I mean, I'm 22, and if I posted any of my semi-revealing pictures they might freak out because I look younger than I am. : Do you think maybe that's all it was? It may not be about censorship at all, it may just be that they were in a hurry and assumed you weren't of age and wanted to clear it just in case.
That's what my theory is!

Like Holydust said, they mostly don't allow PHOTOGRAPHIC nudity because of the legal age thing. Like, unless you're starting to look like someone's momma it can be hard to tell. Seriously. I've met girls who I'm like "Wow, so, like, what college do you go to?" and they're like "Oh, I just started High-school this year!" and I'm like "WTF?! I thought you were a College Senior!!!" Ali, a girl I gamed with, was like a foot taller than me (I'm average, 5'4") and... uh... 'full figured', to say the least, when I met her, and I THINK she was a junior in HS, when I was a senior. Equally, I know a girl who's like almost 25 and still passing as under 17 for reduced bus fare.
DeviantART has a ton of hoops you gotta jump through to post any type of photographic nudity, especially if someone else is the model, IIRC. Sheezy is a small site, and it's just easier to not have to deal with all that legal shite and say "Please, no, we're sorry, but we don't want to get sodomized by the law."
