This is a sketch of Orochimaru I did with a ballpoint pen while I was on the phone at work. I dislike the foreshortening on one of his legs. It seems shadowed incorrectly and the result is that the leg looks much too short when really it's supposed to be bent towards the viewer. Ah, well. Ballpoint means no eraser.
I also made an effort to draw a lot of muscle on him. 99.9% of fanart done for Orochi makes him sparkling, willowly, and flimsy if his body is shown at all unclothed. That's crap, because the man has been a martial artist his entire life. So here's some non-sparkle-Orochi in your eye.

Well, that's damn good for being with pen. I love the shading around his face. Although, because the hair isn't shaded much it gives the illusion of being white. Hm...Orochimaru would look weird with white hair.
I didn't see anything wrong with the leg until you said something. I kinda see what you're saying, but that's only because now I know what I'm supposed to see. Hooray for the power of suggestion.
Orochimaru needs more fan art like this. Too much of what I see is "omg! I'm a fruity gay ninja that likes little boys" snake man.
...it's the eye. That's what makes the face stunning. All that shadow, then the crisp eye above it.

Oooh. I like the fact that you drew him with actual muscles. Because--*gasp*--it takes muscle to move limbs. And like you said, a lifetime of hard physcical work... Hooray for physicaly correct fan art! (true fan art, if you will?)

I totally agree with you. I did some art of Itachi, and made him extremely muscular, because as physical as the life of a ninja is, you have got to gain some definition of figure.
This is amazing--I adore the pose and the scroll beneath his hands. The folds in his clothing are wonderous.

Mhm, I like this (I also LOVE raw ballpoint drawings, but that's another story). Great little drawing and I'm all with you ont eh muscle thing. Love how you made said body toned without over-defining those muscles. It suits him very well.

I agree with the muscle problem. I think that because he's not so heavily built people tend to think that he doesn't have any at all. (but I do have to admit sparkle Orochipants is hilarious). I love to see sketches! xD It's like I can see your brain working ... heh... hehehehehe...
