War of the Hearts

A group of men
With loyalties strong
With relationships
That were joyous and long

Embarked on a journeying
Unknowing that soon
Darkness would settle
A night with no moon

For hate had begun
To sprout up between
Those who were feeling
Ignored and unseen

There was no comfort
On which victims could rest
For they were trying
But failing the test

The Rejects banded
Together by pain
Against icy
And furious rain

But rarely they are quiet
Thos who are bleeding
For rumors and hate
Were rapidly bleeding

Soon arrows were flying
From both wounded sides
And the truth was mixed
In with the lies

The chain that bound
Then was broken
With the hate and cruelness
Which was so often spoken

That which was one
Now became parts
Fuled by the fire
Of blood-broken hearts

Then some of the comrades,
Instead of the hate,
Tried to love and forgive
And to demonstrate:

It was hate that had broken,
And so remained,
It was love that could help them
With the gold that it gained

They gave it a try
And yes, they bled
But they did not give up
They tried harder instead

The friendships were never
Fully recovered
But some were salvaged
Emotions were spared

They still got angry
And mad with each other
But when they looked past the feelings
Each one was a brother

For they were a family
No matter how odd it could seem
They were still friends
All on one team

Slowly, surely the arrows
Stopped falling
But when the damage was seen
The deaths were appalling

Yes, they had been angry
And they had every right
But in the end
It was all just a fight

Yet their once-friends were gone
How could this be?
Why did they not stop
And learn to agree?

The survivors joined hands
Saying, %u201CWill this be our fate
To murder with emotions
Be slaves to our hate?

%u201CNay, for we are together
As long has stars shine above
We have learned violence and anger
Maybe it is time to learn love%u2026%u201D

So they set off together
Joined one again
Not immature children
But wise, learned men

Wherever they traveled
They only taught this:
A sister and brother
May turn one each other

But tear back the layers
And you will discover
A loyalty shared by
The closest of brothers

K, I wrote this last night when I was feeling depressed. It's not very depressing and it cheered me up. It has two meanings. It's basiccly about a war, but it's also about something else. ^^'
It's kinda what I feel has been going on with my friends lately.

Enjoy!
