I never thought I'd ever see an anime character so much like myself. For those who have seen the anime, you now know alot about me. In any case below I've produced a "meaning" for this paticular tattoo.
There's a lot of symbolism in this tattoo, the inverted cross, the word "SIN" spelled out in nails, and of course running beneath the image, that eternal question we all ask of ourselves from time to time, "When you gonna learn"? I think it's fair to say most people don't elect to have something permanently inked into their skin if it doesn't have at least some personal meaning. It shows a lot of self-doubt, maybe even disgust or hatred, although some Christian background may influence ones interpretation of the symbols as Satanism, the symbol of one of the Twelve Apostles Saint Peter, or even the converting of pegans in to christians. The motto beneath the image indicates it's more than just a leftover adolescent expression of rebellion. To me, that question indicates a sort of cynical self-contempt, and internal struggle. 'When you gonna learn' not to get too close? 'When you gonna learn' to let people see your pain? I am very divided in my mind, not wanting to get hurt, but afraid of being alone. I want a strong, deep connection with some one, but I'm afraid of making myself vulnerable, and geeting hurt, again.
The artist did an awsome job, if you look my wings are losided like yohji's, i'm amazed he recreated it so well from such a lack of photos. This artist is amazeing I'll definatly go to him again should I decide on another tattoo.
