The Rise, Fall, and R.I.P. of Superman
Raise words,
Not fists
In silent protest.
Leave clues,
Not bruises
To show you have regressed.
Spread hope,
Not fear
For those turned rotten.
For those lost,
But never quite forgotten.
A world full of tears
Is not one for me,
Where hate is all you breed
And insanity.
Lay aside your weapons,
Throw down your spears.
Challenging my rage against
Your lost hopes and
Your secret fears.
Pity does not win a battle,
No matter how prim your stance.
And I will not give up to you,
Sighting fear in your first glance.
Leave your decisions
To the codes;
Throw your freedom away,
But don't expect me to accept
Your angst and such today.
Let knowledge be my best weapon,
No need for iron nor steel;
True courage lies
Behind the eyes.
It's all in how you feel.
What's inside
This mind of mine?
What secrets do I hold?
Do you dare risk
To find a sign,
Do you dare attempt
To be so bold?
Nothing is more pure
Than my gentle protest,
The one huge step
From the darkness
To those lands
Beyond my solitude.
R.I.P. Superman
1993-2006
Thou art not forgotten.

Der Sensenmann Says:
I adore this style.
It sounds lovely when read aloud.
"... my gentle protest..."
I've seen that line before.
:3
It's good to see it again, even though this poem is worrying.
Make it to 2007, okay?

Eeepp.. that reminds me of things that people say in a very hurtful tone... but I like the poem very much! Stay alive and keep writing for us kids that looooves your poetry!
Not that I'm a sadist. If you're suffering.. well.. I've been having some smack-upside-the-head thoughts lately... or maybe I'm reading to much in your poem?
Strangest coicedence, I rescued a little critter about a week or two ago and we called him Superman and he died. Was sad.

it's something that needs to be recited-- i shall do so i think!

very thoughtful, but i'm confused to where the narrator stands, for or against war/fighting?
