Chapter 4 555 Goddess (Yeah again).

%u201CNight Lancer!%u201D yelled Belldandy as she over to help Night Lancer. %u201CWake
up!%u201D

%u201CUgg,%u201D groaned Night Lancer as he opened his eyes, %u201CWhat a rush!%u201D

%u201CHmm, thought that might have happened,%u201D said Urd as she walked over.
%u201CYou%u2019re its owner all right.%u201D

%u201CReally?%u201D asked Night Lancer as he sat up and looked around. %u201CHow do you
know that?%u201D

%u201CEasy, only the true owner of the sword can do that with it,%u201D instructed
Urd. %u201CYour only problem is that you can%u2019t supply enough energy. But with
training you could bring out the true potential of that blade.%u201D

%u201CGreat,%u201D said Night Lancer as he stood up, grabbed his katana and
re-sheathed it.

%u201CSo now what are we doing?%u201D asked Keichii, %u201CHow%u2019s about breakfast?%u201D

%u201COhh, no,%u201D said Belldandy suddenly, %u201CI haven%u2019t cooked breakfast yet.%u201D

%u201CDamn it,%u201D replied Night Lancer, %u201CAnd I was hungry too, now what am I
going ta do.%u201D

%u201CWell, how%u2019s about we order out something?%u201D answered Keichii.

%u201COk, that sounds good,%u201D replied Night Lancer, %u201CI know a great place, and
you can get a whole ten kilos of Singapore noodles really cheaply.%u201D

%u201CThanks,%u201D said Night Lancer while walking down the hall to get the
phone. He picked it up and started dialing. %u201COk now what was that
number, oh yeah five, five, five three, five, two, two, two, seven, seven.%u201D

The phone started ringing, only to be answered by a machine with a
female voice. It started saying. %u201CWelcome you%u2019ve reached Kate%u2019s
workstation I%u2019m currently out, but please leave a%u2026%u201D

%u201CI%u2019m here, I%u2019m here!%u201D yelled the voice of a young girl while Night
Lancer held the phone away from his ear to keep himself from going deaf.
%u201CYou%u2019ve reached the Goddess Relief Office, I%u2019ll be there for a
consultation in just a few minutes.%u201D

%u201CA what!%u201D yelled Night Lancer as the phone went dead and Urd, Keichii
and Belldandy ran down the hallway to see what the commotion was.

%u201CWhat was that about?%u201D asked Urd.

%u201CUmm, guys what%u2019s the %u2018Goddess Relief Office%u2019?%u201D asked Night Lancer. %u201CAnd
what the hell is a consultation?%u201D

%u201CDon%u2019t tell me, not again!%u201D exclaimed Keichii unhappily just as the
sound of a window breaking in the background made everybody turn around.
%u201CWhat was that?%u201D Everybody left the room to see what the problem was.

When they reached the tearoom they saw a girl standing with her back to
them staring at a shattered window.

%u201CMmmg, why does that always happen,%u201D she said while scratching her head,
%u201CI%u2019ve really got to learn to stop doing that.%u201D

%u201CUmm excuse me,%u201D said Belldandy politely as the girl turned around. At
this point they could see her face. She looked about eighteen, and had
brown hair which came down past her shoulders, also like Belldandy,
Skuld and Urd, she had three tattoos on her face, one on each side of
her upper cheek just below her eyes, both of which were shaped like
triangles. The third one though was on her forehead and this was shaped
like a spiral flame all of there tattoos were blue.

She was wearing purple long pants and a blue and purple jacket with a
tight fitting singlet underneath which were short enough to show her
belly button.

%u201COhh, hi!%u201D she yelled happily just as she noticed Belldandy was standing
there, %u201CGreat, don%u2019t tell me, this is an inspection, I, I, I can explain
about the window, I%u2019ve been trying, really.%u201D

%u201CHey, hey, calm down,%u201D replied Belldandy, %u201Cit%u2019s all right we%u2019re not your
supervisors.%u201D

%u201COhh, then that%u2019s Ok,%u201D said the girl in a relaxed voice, %u201CNow then
where%u2019s today%u2019s contract?%u201D as she looked around.

%u201CUmm, I guess it would be him,%u201D said Urd, while pointing at Night Lancer.

%u201CThis can%u2019t be good,%u201D Night Lancer thought at the same time.

%u201COhh, Ok then,%u201D said the girl as she walked over to Night Lancer, only
to trip over and fall flat on her face, hitting the wooden floor with a
loud, hollow thud.

%u201COuch,%u201D said Urd and Night Light Lancer at the same time.

%u201CYou Ok?%u201D said Belldandy as she rushed over to help the girl.

%u201CYeah, I%u2019m fine, that always happens,%u201D replied the girl. %u201CAnyway where
were we?%u201D

%u201CUmm, you are here for a consultation, weren%u2019t you,%u201D answered Urd.

%u201COhh, yeah, right,%u201D said the girl while walking over to Night Lancer,
%u201CGreetings, I am Kate, Goddess second class, Unlimited, Restricted. Now
if we could be alone, I can start the consultation.%u201D

%u201COk then, Umm how%u2019s about out here,%u201D said Belldandy, while direction the
two towards a secluded area of the temple compound. %u201CIs this place Ok?%u201D

%u201CYeah, that should do,%u201D replied Kate, %u201Cthanks.%u201D

And with that Belldandy, Urd and Keichii left Kate with Night Lancer in
a corner of the compound for their consultation.

%u201CNow let%u2019s begin,%u201D said Kate as she sat down atop a large rock, %u201CDo you
want me to call you %u2018Night Lancer%u2019 or use your real name %u201D

%u201CMy real name?%u201D asked Night Lancer, while leaning up against a tree,
%u201CAnd exactly where did you find that?%u201D

%u201COhh well, we have to know at least the names of the people we consult
don%u2019t we,%u201D replied Kate, %u201Canyway that%u2019s not what I%u2019m here to talk about.%u201D

%u201CThen what is it?%u201D asked Might Lancer while lighting up a cigarette.

%u201CI am here to grant you a wish,%u201D answered Kate while looking at Night
Lancer kindly. %u201CWhat%u2019s the one thing you heart wishes for?%u201D

%u201CThe one thing my heart wishes for?%u201D replied Night Lancer quietly, %u201CNot
even you Goddesses can fulfill that wish.%u201D

%u201CYou sure?%u201D asked Kate, whose face had now turned from kindness to empathy.

%u201CYeah, trust me on that one,%u201D said Night Lancer grimly, while he stood
up straight.

%u201CAhh, come on how bad can it be?%u201D replied Kate as she stood up walked
over to Night Lancer and stared straight into his eyes, %u201CYou know what?
A sad look like that doesn%u2019t suit a cute guy like you.%u201D

%u201CA _WHAT_!%u201D yelled Night Lancer who was caught completely off guard by
that remark.

%u201CWhat, it%u2019s true,%u201D replied Kate while she ran her hand across Night
Lancer%u2019s cheek.

%u201CGet off me, damn it,%u201D said Night Lancer as he pushed Kate away, %u201CI%u2019m
outa here.%u201D He turned around and walked off.%u201D

%u201CWhat, what did I do?%u201D asked Kate while looking around stupidly.

%u201CFucking hell,%u201D Night Lancer thought as he walked through the door to
the temple building.

%u201CSo how%u2019d it go?%u201D asked Urd, who was at this point watching TV and
sipping sake.

%u201CDon%u2019t ask,%u201D replied Night Lancer as he sat down next to her, grabbed
the bottle and took a rather large swig.

%u201CThat bad, eh?%u201D said Urd while grabbing back the bottle of Sake, which
Night Lancer had already half finished.

%u201CYeah,%u201D replied Night Lancer while taking in a rather deep breath from
the cigarette he had earlier.

%u201CSo where is she now?%u201D asked Urd.

%u201CBeats the fuck out of me,%u201D answered Night Lancer, %u201CI left her standing
somewhere.%u201D

%u201CWell that was a bit mean,%u201D said Belldandy who was standing behind Night
Lancer.

%u201CWell she fucking deserved it,%u201D replied Night Lancer as he turned around
to face Belldandy. %u201CShe was screwin%u2019 with my mind.%u201D

%u201CWhat do mean by that?%u201D asked Urd.

%u201CShe decided that the %u2018consultation%u2019 was going to be used to discuss how
cute she thinks I am,%u201D replied Night Lancer while standing up and
leaning against the wall.

%u201CAnd I take it you didn%u2019t like that?%u201D said Urd.

%u201DPretty much,%u201D replied Night Lancer as he walked out the door, %u201CI%u2019m
going out far a little while, talk to ya later.%u201D

*Several hours later.*

Night Lancer still hadn%u2019t come back, Urd was still watching TV, Skuld
had finally woken up and had cracked the shits with everyone, especially
Belldandy, Night Lancer and Keichii, so she was in her labs still trying
to fix Benpie%u2019s severed head. Keichii was at the NIT, and Kate was
sitting around with Belldandy talking.

%u201CSo you%u2019re the legendary Belldandy then,%u201D said Kate, %u201CIt%u2019s an honor to
meet you.%u201D

%u201CPlease don%u2019t talk to me like that.%u201D Replied Belldandy slightly
embarrassed. %u201CWhat did I do to deserve such a title like that anyway?%u201D

%u201CYou were the one who defeated that virus program incident nearly a year
ago.%u201D Answered Kate.

%u201CBut that wasn%u2019t just me alone,%u201D replied Belldandy kindly, %u201Cboth of my
sisters and my love Keichii-san helped out to the best of their
abilities as well. I couldn%u2019t have done it alone, everybody else played
their part in it, so they deserve equal credit too.%u201D

%u201COhh, I see,%u201D said an astonished Kate, %u201CI guess that makes sense.%u201D

%u201CI%u2019m glad,%u201D replied Belldandy.

%u201COhh yeah by the way, there is one other thing I wish to talk to you
about,%u201D said Kate.

%u201CYes what is it?%u201D asked Belldandy kindly.

%u201CI wish to know more about that Night Lancer guy,%u201D answered Kate, %u201CI
would like to know why he reacted the way he did to me.%u201D

%u201CWell we don%u2019t know much about him our selves,%u201D replied Belldandy, %u201Cbut
I sense that there is a deep sadness troubling him. He may try not to
show it but there is something there that has, and is, causing him some
deep sadness and torment.%u201D

%u201CReally, you think so?%u201D asked Kate sadly.

%u201CYes,%u201D answered Belldandy quietly, %u201CBut I%u2019m not exactly sure about it,
he has already told us a small part about himself but I think there is
still a large section still untold, and I think that is what is causing
him trouble.%u201D

%u201COk then%u2026%u201D said Kate with a touch of empathy in her voice.

At the same time in down town Kyoto

Night Lancer was wandering aimlessly looking for a new place to get
drunk and clear his head.

%u201CMan, things have been a bit crazy lately,%u201D he thought to himself, while
wandering through the door to a bar.

Since it was about mid-day the place wasn%u2019t very crowded. There was
about six or so people sitting at the various tables.

%u201CSo what %u2018ull it be?%u201D asked the bartender.

%u201CWhat ever%u2019s your strongest stuff,%u201D replied Night Lancer while he sat
down at a stool.

%u201COk, you%u2019re the boss,%u201D answered the bartender as he poured him a glass
of strong Sake.

%u201CThanks,%u201D replied Night Lancer, %u201Cleave the bottle.%u201D

For the next twenty or so minutes, Night Lancer sat at the bar starring
into the glass of Sake sadly, stopping every few minutes to take a
mouthful. This was until the bartender walked over to him and started
talking.

%u201CYou Ok over there buddy?%u201D he asked, %u201Cyou look a bit down.%u201D

%u201CYeah, I%u2019m fine,%u201D replied Night Lancer, %u201Cjust thinking.%u201D

%u201CWell Ok then,%u201D said the bartender. %u201CIf you need anything else just ask,
Ok.%u201D

%u201CAlright then, thanks,%u201D replied Night Lancer, %u201CI%u2019m outa here anyway.%u201D He
finished up his glass, got up, reached into his trench coat, grabbed his
wallet and passed the bartender a few notes. %u201CHere%u2019s your money, plus a
bit extra for caring.%u201D

%u201CThanks mate,%u201D said the bartender, %u201Csee you sometime in the future?%u201D

%u201CYeah probably,%u201D Answered Night Lancer while turning around and walking out.

As Night Lancer left the bar he noticed that it was very clouded over
with thick black clouds, and with that it started to rain.

%u201CDamn it, just my fucking luck,%u201D Night Lancer said under his breath as
he started off down the street. %u201CMan hard to believe it%u2019s been a whole
year today since that incident%u2026%u201D

%u201CHey!%u201D yelled a male voice from behind Night Lancer. He turned around to
see Keichii standing behind him, sitting on his BMW motorbike.

%u201COhh, hey-ya K,%u201D replied Night Lancer with as little sadness in his
voice as possible, %u201Cwhat%u2019s up.%u201D

%u201CWell I was on my way back to the temple compound for the day and saw
you walkin%u2019 alone in the rain,%u201D said Keichii. %u201CWant a lift?%u201D he said
while passing Night Lancer a helmet.

%u201CNahh, I%u2019m%u2026%u201D answered Night Lancer as a large explosion in the
background cut him off, %u201Cwow, where%u2019d that come from?%u201D He looked around.

%u201CLooks like the temple,%u201D replied Keichii. %u201CProbably one of Skuld%u2019s
failed experiments.%u201D

%u201CI hope,%u201D said Night Lancer while closing his eyes and concentration,
%u201CShit, Keichii start up the bike.%u201D

%u201CBad?%u201D asked Keichii as he started up his bike and Night Lancer put the
helmet on.

%u201CYeah, real bad,%u201D answered Night Lancer while jumping onto the bike.

*Moments earlier back at the temple.*

Belldandy was busy preparing dinner for Keichii, Urd was in her room
working on a new potion, Skuld was still in her labs working on some new
inventions, and Kate was standing around waiting for Night Lancer.

%u201COhh, when will he return,%u201D sighed Kate, while thinking about where
Night Lancer could be. Then suddenly a sound in the background caught
her attention. %u201CHmm, I wonder, what could that have been, maybe it%u2019s my
Night Lancer trying to sneak up on me.%u201D

She walked over to inspect what it was, but to her surprise it wasn%u2019t
Night Lancer, infact it was a rather large man. He was wearing black
cargo pants, and a deep red shirt. He had black hair and a set of
tattoos on his face, like Belldandy, Skuld and Urd except his were red
instead of blue. Upon noticing Kate he walked over to her.

%u201CHmm looks like I%u2019m in the right place,%u201D he said while grabbing Kate in
the throat and lifting her up in the air with ease, %u201CAlright you
Yggdrasil bitch, were is he?%u201D

%u201CWho%u2026%u201Dcoughed Kate who could barely breathe, let alone talk, %u201C%u2026Who do
you mean?%u201D

%u201CYou know perfectly well who I%u2019m looking for, Night Lancer,%u201D the man
snarled cruelly, %u201CNow I%u2019m a first class combat demon, stop playing games
before I blow you away.%u201D

With that Belldandy and Urd arrived, both of whom were wearing their
combat uniforms.

%u201CHey what do you think you are doing!%u201D yelled Urd.

%u201CWhat%u2019s it look like you half breed bitch,%u201D replied the demon, while
tossing the limp body of Kate aside, %u201CI%u2019m looking for my pay, that
mortal fuck Night Lancer.%u201D

%u201CWell he%u2019s not here, look elsewhere and leave us be,%u201D said Belldandy as
she undid one of her earrings, held it in front of her and it instantly
turned into her staff, %u201CUrd, check on Kate, I%u2019ll show our friend the way
out.%u201D

%u201CDo you really want to try it?%u201D snarled the demon as he stuck out his
hand and a rather large spear appeared in it, %u201Cyou%u2019re only going to turn
out like your little friend over there.%u201D

%u201CI will not let you hurt any more of my friends!%u201D yelled Belldandy
trying to suppress her rage. With that her Angel Holy Bell appeared out
of her back.

%u201CHmm, Angels now are we, this aughta be quite entertaining,%u201D laughed the
demon as he swung his spear at Belldandy, who blocked it with her staff,
%u201Cwell at least you know what you%u2019re doing, this should keep me
entertained until the main attraction shows up.%u201D

With that the demon let out an unrelenting chain of attacks with his
spear, most of which where blocked by Belldandy and her angel, though
they struggled to keep up with the demons speed and power. Suddenly the
demon raised his hand mid-attack and let off an energy blast at point
blank rang under Belldandy%u2019s defenses. Even tough Holy Bell managed to
raise a shield the sheer power of the explosion blow Belldandy across
the temple compound. And with that it started to rain.

%u201CYou BASTARD!%u201D yelled Urd upon noticing what had happened to Belldandy,
%u201Cyou are going to fucking pay for that!%u201D she raised her hands above her
head and started summoning ht king of all lightning bolts, %u201CUrd%u2019s
Ultimate Lightning Bolt!%u201D

*KRAK!*

The explosion shook the foundations of the temple compound and could be
heard for miles in all directions. A large mushroom cloud rose from
where the demon was standing. When the smoke had cleared there was a
large crater with the demon floating in the centre of it.

%u201CWell, well, well, is that all you%u2019ve got?%u201D asked the demon in a cocky
voice, %u201C%u2026 It%u2019s over-rated. All that fuss and all we get is some second
rate light show and an over sized hole in the ground. Well at least
you%u2019ll be of some use for the construction business.%u201D

%u201CWha%u2026 how can that be?%u201D stammered Urd with a look of fear and extreme
surprise in her face, %u201Cnothing should have of been able to survive a
direct hit from that.%u201D

%u201CWell, sorry to break it to you hun, something just did,%u201D answered the
demon, %u201Cbesides you missed me!%u201D

He raised his arm and fired an energy beam at Urd, and it exploded
meters before hitting her.

%u201CWhat?%u201D said a startled Urd, as the smoke cleared and the silhouette of
a winged appeared where the beam had exploded. It was none other than
world of elegance, Urd%u2019s Angel. She had jumped in front of the beam to
protect Urd from harm.
%u201DDarn it, you got lucky that time,%u201D snarled the demon, %u201CBut your Angel
can%u2019t always save you.%u201D He fired several shots at Urd and her Angel, all
of which hit directly, knocking the goddess to the ground.

%u201CHey leave her alone!%u201D yelled a voice from behind the demon as an
explosion went off on the back of the demons head.

He turned around to see Kate standing behind him with her hands raised
and smoke coming off them.

%u201CWell, we%u2019re the brave one aren%u2019t we? Said the demon while turning
around and cracking his neck. The blast obviously didn%u2019t do anything to him.

%u201CB, B, B, But how can that be?%u201D stammered Kate as she fell to her knees,
%u201Cthat shot should%u2019ve of taken your head off.%u201D

%u201CI%u2019m a first class combat demon you idiot, your pathetic attempts won%u2019t
do anything to me,%u201D replied the demon while walking over to Kate. %u201CNow
how about you shut up and die.%u201D

%u201CNahh I got a better idea, you die!%u201D
