I have waited a LONG time to make sure I was ready for this.

And now you see a glimpse of my vision. You like?

Yes, this is the declaration of a new Specter-made sprite comic series starting sometime in the coming months. Yes, noble Sheezy-goer, I said series. Complete with plotline, character development, humor, angst, philosophical diatribe, more angst (mostly due to the philosophy), mystery, rivalries, late-night cram sessions and all-nighters, battle scenes, Flash-animated episodes, and enough tension to cut with a Scottish broadsword. Take a few hearty slices of 8 Bit Theater, spread on some Metroid: Third Derivative, and put it between two slices of Kid Radd. That's sorta what it tastes like. Hungry?

However, I'm still a college student who can only do so much by himself. And so, in hopes of avoiding the classic failure of most web comics (namely: slow / lacking updates, content failure) I'm going to take a step. A radical step. I'm going to do what few sprite comic authors have done before:

I'm looking for CO-AUTHORS. CO-CREATORS.

Yes, that's right. I'm looking for a few good people to whom I can entrust not only my resources (sprites, etc...) but also the heart of the whole operation: the characters themselves. Essentially, what I'd be asking for is co-authors who could provide a comic every other week (A.K.A. twice a month), usually a plot-neutral comic that doesn't really move things forward much. I hope to handle that aspect myself as much as possible, although I will be discussing the story & script with my co-authors, so if I feel that someone really gets what I'm aiming for then they could end up doing plot-centric comics.

If you'd be interested in being a co-author for The Life of Magus, drop me an e-mail at MysteriousVoiceGuy@gmail.com and show me some samples of sprite comics you've made / been involved in making.

I'll also eventually be looking for people of other talents, like anime artists and Flash animators who can do brief animated sequences. If so, I'll probably put up a journal about it... or announce it on my in-construction homepage, ShadesOfVertigo.net (nothing there yet, but soon!)

And if the concept of the comic seems a little bizarre, fret not! All will be explained in due time.

Dude, holy crap that looks awesome. I'd love to see this series in the makes.

And hey, if you need a co-author/co-creator, I'm pretty good at it myself. I can make literally 1 sprite comic per day, and make it look like it took longer than a day to make, just imagine what I can do in two weeks <

Course I'll have a couple of days out of the two weeks to do it since I also do my own drawn comics three times a week (more or less, 2 ADC:NS, 1 Genetics 101), and if you help out now and again, then thats perfect because its less work for me to do to focus on detail and perfection in panels. I'll help ya out if ya sign me up as much as I can. I am pretty reliable...when I remeber ot be

The thing that gets me the most is... is that Arche Klaine at the top? I wouldn't be expecting her since not many people really know the Tales series enough (series, as in not Symphonia.). And who are the two on the right?

Yeah, does seem bizzare. I will not fret and wait in due time and what not. I could provide art, but I advise looking at my stuff, because that's my style and I plan to keep it. Unless you want to do the photoshopping.

Cat Megex Says:

Ah-HAH! I knew that was Arche. ^^ Tales of Phantasia FTW!

Wazu Says:

Oh man, that looks so cool.

Co-author huh? Well that sounds interesting.

Mr OMA Says:

Huh, VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY intriguing!

Might that redhead be Lina Inverse? I just can't shake the suspicion.
