On one of my three trips back to NJ for post-surgical doctor visits, I ended up spending some time in my Dad's classroom during school hours. Bored out of my mind (and knowing that his school has a VERY uptight Internet filter) I decided to spend some time mucking with the Cloud Filter in Photoshop.
Yes, my Dad's school computer has Photoshop. Why? Because he's awesome like that. The guy taught me videoediting, for pete's sake!
So I'm messing around, trying out various things on the clouds... and all of a sudden, I've got a vortex. Not the one you see up there, mind you; I had to throw on a number of other effects before it looked like THAT. And what, you may be asking, incured me to turn it into a space vortex with warp-speed? Finding out earlier in the day that there's a
Star Trek MMORPG in the works. That, and I love space as a theme, just flat-out.
Anyways, if this pic garners enough attention I'll probably put together a tutorial for how to make one of these bad boys. It makes for a great backdrop / special effect, doesn't it?
