This took for-effing-EVER to scan and piece together, and it's still not totally perfect, but I'm done screwing with it.
This is an example of me sitting down with two completely different ideas and merging them into one painting. I guess it works, in a semi-surreal sort of way. I'm thinking of doing a follow up to it in another colour, maybe with another sort of big cat, though the animal really didn't have much to do with the painting, just the fur pattern.
As always, critiques are greatly appreciated.
This is 28x20 inches, acrylics on stretched canvas.

I like the way the tail kind of seems to merge and blend with the tiles.
I think maybe a bright blue tint added to the tiger's eyes would make them pop a bit more, though. They look kind of bland with that paler blue. I'm thinking they'd make a great focal point to carry the viewer's eye up the tiger's body. They they'd naturally follow the line of the muzzle and the chest stripes back around for the complete tour of the art so to speak.

This is very interesting, a unique idea and it looks very well done. Wonderful work on the composition and details and great work on the colors.

This is quite beautiful and mystical. I love how the blues and whites clash. =)
