You Have Been the One

Oh lord, what will the consequences be for posting this, I wonder? There's not much I can do to avoid ridicule at this point.

This comic takes place at the same time in the Fullmetal Alchemist series as the point where Alphonse has just transmuted himself to bring Edward back to life, and now Edward, of course, is going to transmute HIMself to bring Al back. Jeez, so much self-sacrifice. This is sort of a scene I pictured all along since the last days of the anime...but oh my god, so many tears in one comic strip. I'm like, laughing at myself out of embarrassment or...I'm not sure what.

The funny thing is, this is also the first time I've ever drawn Kylee kissing someone. Does that make me any less subject to fangirl rantings?

I was talking to my friend Kewpie today, and she told me how darned surprised she was that I had never ever made any EdxKylee art. I was like, wow, she's right about one thing....I've never in my life, not even in private, drawn a single piece of true EdxKylee art. I at first wanted to save this story for my future comic but...eh...who knows how long it would have been til this part of the comic itself rolled around anyway. Take it or leave it, no flaming please.

This is a crap, quick sketch (with a lot of untidy dialogue all over the place) because I wasn't planning on posting this in the first place, but here it is. I even ended it sooner than I meant to. Just ignore the absent background story etc etc.

I tried to capture some raw emotion with this, a true and gentle love. Let me know what you think.

I know this is an extremely risky step when it comes to my reputation. But I hope you all understand it's not the beginning of some storm of fanpairing art. I think you all know me to the point where you understand I do things differently...and I only do things like this when I have only the purest and tamest intentions. Not to mention I would never do this "just because I felt like it." I would only do it if I meant it from the heart.
