Caged

striding quickly through a crowded street
eyes surrounding me, watching my every move
the slightest flinch,the smallest twitch
on display like a sideshow attraction
poking fun just to get a reaction

throw something at the beast
maybe it'll move, tap on the glass
oh look,it's going in a corner now

rocking back and forth
like a rocking horse
trying to decipher my fate
before it's all too late
trapped in my head
trying to escape my filthy cage
voices screaming at me
though I don't know who they are
it puts me in a rage
they tell me to listen, pay attention
I feel that I'm spiraling into another dimension
beasts emerge from my closet
memories scream in my face
grooves carved into the floor
as I begin to pace
shackled to my own head
darkness falls,heart beat quickens
and I lose all control
as the conflict sickens
tears stream down my face
danger all over the place
bright red eyes blink casually
my breathing becomes difficult
the slightest blink of a light
the ENEMY!
I'm screaming silently in the night as
the room is shrinking!
SPIKES COMING OUT OF THE CEILING
BOMBS IN THE BACKYARD
SPIDERS EVERYWHERE
GET THEM AWAY..
get them away

it's quiet now
another night of troubled sleep
after cowarding under the covers
I blink as sunlight emerges from the dusty blinds
what will happen next?

it's time to euthanize the poor creature
put it out of it's misery
it's no longer how it used to be
sadness turned to madness

I see..

paranoia,mood swings,panic attacks
hearing voices,midnight snacks
seeing things with my own eyes
is there something wrong?
tell no lies

Ok this is personal to me, so don't act stupid.Just give me a decent comment please ? I worked really hard on this, and I think this is one of my best poems, thank you!

Wow... this is very emotional... or a word along those lines. You did a very good job expressing what they felt... makes the reader think if it was a dream within a dream of sorts. This is an excellent piece, very nice job.
