A Guardtower stands ominously and silenty amongst the trees and barbedwire of Dachau. Many a cruel event was most likely witnessed through the glass windows by the SS Guardsmen, many of whom were men of but 20 who in a search for a place in this new system of state, were brought into a prison system of unparalleled barbarism.

They performed their daily duties with cold efficiency, though many thoughts of sympathy were present in individual minds I am sure, one dare not question the authority of the Reich. Then others, encouraged in their malice, became fiends of unequaled cruelty.

The lighting on this shot was near perfect, a rather large and nasty storm was building the day of my visit and it added a quite dramatic value to the scene.

Oiy, you got to go to Germany, I envy you. I was supposed to go this summer but things came up and money became an issue.
Beautiful shot.
