The infamous entrace gate to Dachau Concentration Camp, with the even more infamous phrase of 'Arbeit Macht Frei', or 'Freedom Through Work' a hallow and synical gesture at best.
People from many nations and for many reasons passed through these gates. From career criminals, politcal prisoners, innocent Germans and Jews. Over 60,000 never stepped foot back outside of this gate from 1933 to 1945.
Note this is not the original gate, it was stolen US troops during the occupation.
