The Story of Lora-chan (Part 2)

Lora awoke, as if from a horrible nightmare and rubbed her eyes. She slowly noticed she wasn't in her room at the dormitory and thought, "Where... am I?" She stretched, squeaked, and then felt a sharp pain on her back. She gasped and cringed in pain as she reached behind herself to feel bandages had been carefully wrapped around her broken wings. "My wings..." she finally remembered and looked up to look at her surroundings again. "But... how did I get here...?" she tried to ask, as if she could figure it out herself. "I carried you," a young man said from the doorway. "There was no way you could've survived on your own and there was definately no way I could leave an Angel to die," he started to say. Lora stared at him for a few seconds and then noticed he had brought her food. The young man walked over to Lora, set the tray of food in front of her and sat on the bed next to her, and continued. "I'm just glad to see you're doing better. You looked so wounded and I almost thought I lost you a few times on the way here." Lora looked at him blankly and then looked down at the food set in front of her.

She started eating quietly as the young man got up and went to the closet in corner. He grabbed a few items of clothing and brought them back over the bed. "Here are some clothes for you to wear for now. I don't really have any girls clothes so I'll have to go buy some. It's probably not a good idea for you to walk around outside in the clothes I found you in. I don't think you want to cause a lot of attention to yourself here," he explained. Lora looked up at him, giggled faintly, and smiled a bit. "Okies," she replied. The young man smiled back and asked, "So bright Angel, what's your name?" Lora quickly blushed and stuttered in response, "L... Lora..." The young man chuckled a bit and softly tapped her nose. "Nice to meet you Lora-chan. My name's Kotaru." She stared at him again, her face bright red. Kotaru smiled and got up from the bed. "I'll leave for a bit so you can finish eating and get dressed. I'll come back up when you're done and we'll go out to get you some new clothes. Think you're up for it?," he asked. Lora squeaked as she put another piece of food into her mouth and nodded.

A few minutes later, Lora got out of the bed and stared at the clothes Kotaru had left for her to put on. She got dressed and went over the the mirror on the other side of the room. She giggled a bit and realized that the clothes she was wearing were Kotaru's and then quickly blushed. She smiled and put her arms out, the clothes were way too big on her. She walked back over to the bed and her eyes strayed to the nightstand next to her. She blinked and noticed the necklace sitting there as she checked her neck. It was her mother's necklace and she put it on. She thought, "It must've fallen off me and Kotaru picked it up." Lora stared into her mother's necklace and remembered why she left Heaven in the first place. She began to cry, then heard footsteps coming from the stairs. She quickly calmed herself down and put the necklace into her shirt, out of sight.

A few moments later, Lora heard Kotaru chuckling in the doorway behind her. She turned around and Kotaru chuckled even more. "Well, those clothes really don't fit you, huh?" he asked, still laughing. "Ya think?" Lora asked back, looking up at him and holding up her arms to show that most of the sleeves were hanging off of her hands. Kotaru smiled and chuckled more as he walked over to her and started to roll up the sleeves for her. "That's why we need to get you some new clothes," he explained. Lora looked at him and smiled back. "How come you're helping me so much though?" she asked him sweetly. Kotaru looked back at her and stared into her eyes. "I told you already. Beautiful Angels shouldn't be left to die after they've fallen. There was no way I'd ever let an Angel die..." he paused and smiled, "...Besides, you're too cute to die." Lora's face turned bright red and she quickly stared at the floor. "Thankies for saving me... and for helping me now. I don't know how I can repay you, but I shall try," she announced. Kotaru looked at her again and placed his hand on her head. "You survived. That's all I really wanted." Lora looked at him, still blushing, and hugged him. "Thankies so much Kotaru-kun."

The second installment of 'The Story of Lora-chan'. This part is a lot less saddening then the first part. I'm really enjoying writing this story and I hope at least a few people are enjoying reading it. More parts to come, I promise. It just may take me a while.

The first part of the story.
