Yay, I did it!! I was working on this one the whole day and the whole night and have NO idea what happend to the time, did someone steal it or what?
This time I actually read a couple of tutorials. It would be even better if I followed them a bit more, but oh well - So here are the sites I used (thanks guys, you saved my life.. )
- excellent clouds tutorial: http://www.crimsonjassic.com/
- This one I used for hair - but a bit more practice would do me no harm.. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/27051581/
- ..and this is an awfully good and actually easy technique for drawing grass! http://aurory.deviantart.com/

Anyway, comments and constructive critics are of course welcome.. There are things that need fixing, but at the moment I'm waaay too tired to even care.. (I'll do that tomorrow )

EDIT: sorry, it's just a bad habit of mine.. I fixed some things (grass, hair, the bird, legs..) and a big thanks to everyone for suggestions!

I'm just really in love with the detail on the skin in this piece. All the detail is shaded in and looks great. Overall just an excellent submission, good job skratek!

Also be sure to check out the rest of their gallery, there's some more great work in there that i'd love to feature too but due to limitations cannot =(

Wow, very nice! The simple background looks wonderful and the anatomy and painting of the woman looks awesome and realistic too (better than I could do). I love it ^^

Baldur Says:

I think we need a favorite here, beautiful, mate

GoroUnreal Says:

I love the detail you've done, usually you'll see just plain shading on the edges of their limbs but you've gone and shaded things like their ribs. Very nice work!

Mithril Says:

Holy shit, this is to perfect for words...! Woaw.. I am speechless.. Masterful done, indeed.. *applause*

Minstrel Ayreon Says:

Very cool! I love the pose and expression!

There's only one thing I'm not sure about. To get the "haze" effect like you see on the bird, it usually has to be a fairly significant distance--like looking at a city skyline from miles away, or looking across the Grand Canyon. The size of the bird indicates that it's quite close but the haziness would make it seem as though it's at a much higher altitude.

Not a huge deal, though...I think this is a neat painting!

GothIQa Says:

Very freakin good
No seriously awesome

MarkusMaximus Says:

Wow, that's awesome. Nice to see some things that actually deserve front page get there, but that's another story.

The textures of... well, everything... is awesome, but especially the hair. The only fault I can find is that the lower half of the legs look too short; The length of the hip to the knee is almost exactly the length of the knee to the bottom of the foot.

Still, that doesn't detract from the awesomeness. Excellent work.

skratek Says:

Thanks.. I haven't noticed that, but now that you've mentioned it, it does seem a bit odd.. I'll look into it

Minstrel Ayreon Says:

Congrats...you got a Featured Art for this!
