I love the looming feeling, the quiet contemplation over black fields. The thing it reminds me most often are the dying villages where I come from that are being resettled for a strip mine. It's not as tragic as it sounds, since people only move about 10 km into new, shiny homes, but empty villages of formerly 2,000 inhabitants are pretty impressive.
