"The Last Unicorn" came out in 1982. I was 6 years old when I last saw it. Now a mere 3 days from my thirtieth birthday, I watched it again.

This was a formative movie for me. I was almost afraid to watch it again, fearing I would be disappointed and all those magical feelings I had while watching it as a girl would be dispelled and somehow lessened. It wasn't the case though and I enjoyed it as much as ever. I realize too how much this movie influences me even today, especially in my art, I recognize my Farfalla character having many similar characteristics to the unicorn character in the movie.

So I had to do a bit of fanart for this great film, this is my own version of the part of story where the unicorn hears for the first time of the redbull and how it herded all the unicorns into the sea. I really couldn't stand that annoying little moth/butterfly character and thought that cool, creepy owl from %"The Secret of Nimh" would have been much better in the role. Anyways, it's my picture, I can make happen whatever I'd like to happen. Nyah!

And yay for making art again, I never have time for it these days.

I remember that movie, I loved it so much. The last time I must have seen it was when I was, maybe 6, or 7, years old. It's a classic.

;-; You make me want to watch it again, I adore your art. It's so clean, and the no-lineart feel is great.

Was it really 1982? Jesus...
You truly did it justice. This actually brought a tear to my eye... amazing.
I want that movie so bad. ;_;

I also grew up watching those two movies when I was little. I managed to find Last Unicorn on DVD so that my 4 year old niece can enjoy it as much as I have. No all I have to do is find Secret of Nimh on DVD as well.

Utterly beutiful
