Amber In Umber

My first ever fully watercolour-ed painting. Dad brought me pro-quality watercolours from St. Petersburg, and they needed a test. Of course I picked Asting so I wouldn't be slapped by other dog owners for non-likeness. At first I wanted to do a complex background, but then I thought the background could 'eat' the fur detail... and then I noticed umber paint. I'm in love with the colour itself and the way it matches with setter fur.
Alas, scanner couldn't but eat the colours, so this image is a tad brighter than IRL, otherwise some shades of colours just won't show. Annu needs an A3 scanner. Donate? *puppy eyes*
