Ok... so far, most of my dragons were depicted as kaind or at the very least docile beyings... whille I do like that idea, one must not overlook that a dragon, no matter how docile and friendly he is, is still a beying of great pwoer and strength... and when something or somebody manages to anger him, all hell can break loos. When looking at this pic, some people might get the idea that this dragon is just one of those clasical dragons that can fight off an entire army and then gets slain by a pritsy-pritsy "hero" with a pig-sticker for a weapon. well... that's not the case here, for this dragon really dose have a very good reason for rampaging through the camp of these humans... see, he is Draghi, a sidekick to the main char of my story: Jon. Jon was captured by a group of slavers whille patroling the northen borders of the winter elven realms... all his companions died in combat, Jon was the only one that was cought alive, though wounded. He was sent to this outpost operated by a big human kingdome in the south wich buys slaves so they could send them to work in the mines to extract ore ( for military pourpuses ). However, Jon was deemed to be not fit to work the mines and thouse was sentinced to death and was given on the hands of the executioner, wich decided that he would much rather torture Jon for all his worth B4 killing him. Draghi, who was tending to his own mate and his hatchlings, a long ways up north, senced the danger in wich Jon was in and came to his rescue. But blinded by the hatred for these humans knowing what they had done to his master B4 he got there ( psichic conection thingy ), he broke out in to a rage once he got there and started killing every soldier that got in his way ( even swallowing two of them wholle... ) of course however, this little rage would have a heavy tool on the dragon as he will recive a lot of unnecesary wounds as well as efectivelly grounding himself after foulishly swallowing those humans with their armours... of course, in the end, he will save his master and efectivelly whipe out a relativelly big threat to the northlands and even though he didn't do it himself, folowing this atack, all the other slaves that were in the camp would escape. Jhon however will have wounds, from the tortures to wich he was soubmited, that would not heal for the rest of his life ( the most obvious of wich would be whip lashes across his back ).
On a more technical level, I tryed here to work with a series of pencills ranging from 3B to 8B... I feal I could have done much more with this pic... but i guess it's too late now... and the downsizing to get in to elfwood limits made the pic loose a lot of detaills. And yes, the black column at the rightmost upper corner is sapposed to be smoke as Draghi set fire to one of those towers.
And the word on the upper left corner means "Rage".

Hey! Its finally finished! A beautiful job well done, I'm so pleased to see how your shading skills are improving! The detail on the right character, (the one with the eyepatch) really throws him into the foreground, while that stark shading on the dragon makes him the focal pont, which is what I was worried about when you first showed me the pic. You've done the right thing with the background shading, only I notice there are one or two faces that aren't finished.
And for some CC, perhaps a little more darker shading on the wings to bring them out a bit, they're such a beautiful design and deserve more focus. A job well done!

Very cool, and yes, it was kind of unexpected in light of the rest of your work!
Out of curiosity, what kind of font/alphabet is that you're using?

Heya!
This scene is really impressive. I like the dragons movement. Crunshing everything eh?
The head and chestplates also look very good. And the amount of detail is also very good work, the background and all these people.
I wopnder if the towers in the background should be a bit more lightened up to get some more depth in the picture. Even though there are some really dark parts of shading, everything looks still a bit to bright in my opinion. The light of the fire in the background yould course more effect on what is in the foreground. The wings for example could cast more and deeper shadow on the dragon itself. I think, this idea would look more better in a nightscene.
Sorry... but i don't really like the smoke (didn't even regonized what this could be...). It looks to dark and not soft enough I think. It could spread out more in the sky as it is getting higher.
I really like the picture, but it's still a bit bright to my mind and I think the global shadow ore whatever it's called (objects casting shadow on thier own surface) could be stronger.
There are some points I could also say something about... but there is no time for me left, still got some work to do. Sorry, this happend to be rather short. (normally, I can't stop talking about pictures ^^)
