you are a pain in the ass

you are a pain in the ass

You and I
We came together in the desert of our souls.
Our souls
Each burned and razed to the ground
By betrayal and death
Raked over the hot coals
Of the annihilation of our hopes, our dreams
And burned to a crisp by our own ignorance,
Yes, and the ignorance of others.

I found myself in an empty place
Devoid of desire,
My life that I planned was no longer
Possible.
In that window of time
In the state of shock that exists
Between the annihilation of everything
And the new growth, the shoots of new desires
For this time, . . . this precious other-worldly time
My eyes were clear.
Desireless, I could see.

I was in a holy place
Strived for by priests and sages
A place that can only be found
By plumbing the depths
Of extraordinary pain and suffering.

You and I
We found each other,
Groping in the dark desert of our souls.
We came together tentatively
Touching lightly, seeking solace,
Seeking understanding, comfort,
And some measure of safety.
Finding passion
Where we thought none would ever be again
I cherish you.
You have upset the delicate balance of my life.
You are a pain in the ass.
I cherish you.
And I thank the heavens you have come into my life.

I originally came to Sheezy to look at other people's work, but I was so inspired by the stuff I've been reading, looking at and listening to, that I decided to make a submission of my own.

Der Sensenmann Says:

Breath-taking...
I applaud you, Sushi. Even when you repeat words over and over you make the poem flow.
Heh... you write like my mother wrote, Miss Sushi.

CapturedDarkness Says:

LMFAO. I knew it was about me!, jk, is this about Lawrence?, and if so, has he read this? lol
