Somewhat inspired by the Warhammer 40,000 setting, depicting a grim bleak far future where the forces of Humanity struggle against the alien menace without, and the corrupting touch of Chaos within.
This here's a techpriest of the Adeptus Mechanicus, whose diligent recitals of the Litany of Activation and anointing of the holy engines with blessed oils keep the forgeworld of Mars producing technological artefacts with which to strike down the enemies of Mankind.

Nice use of light and dark there
I always liked the 40K setup of humanity being totally Xenophobic - it gives a nice touch of darkness to their worldsetting.
