Yep, the third book in my series. It'll go something like this when I'm done:
Book One- The Exile (Focused on Torrent, ALi and Badger)
Book Two- The Opening (Torrent's book)
Book Three- The Abuse (ALi's book)
Book Four- The Closing (Badger's Book)
They go in order of thier ages, so it's kind of confusing. ANyyywho here's the partial teaser that goes with this image!
'Torrent saw her before Chris did, Thank God.
What the young werewolf saw churned his stomach violently, as though someone had just ripped all his innards out by hand.
Within the fighting pit, surrounded by avid dog-fighting fans, chained, muzzled, bloody, and ragged... was ALi.
Her fur was dirty and ragged, nearly all matted. Her face was barely visable through the muzzle that pinned together her powerful jaws. But above that hideous contraption were her dull, fogged-over, lifeless eyes.
This wasnt ALi. It couldnt be.
But it was. Though her faded eyes were slightly obscured, there was no doubt that those two mismatched eyes were his sister's.
Chris noticed his friend, rigid beside him, and turned to follow his gaze through the crowded basment.
Torrent seized him roughly by the shoulders and stepped in front of him, grating out his words in a harsh, dark tone.
"Dont you dare look."
Chris held Torrent's icey gaze for a moment before he placed both of his hands on Torrent's wrists and pulled them off his shoulders.
Preparing himself for the worst, Chris looked around Torrent into the ring.
His world shook, everything went silent as though he was deaf.
Torrent closed his brilliant blue-and-cream eyes tight together to prevent the tears that were threatening to pour forth. After what seemed like an eternity, Chris wrenched himself forward, but Torrent's arms where there to hold him back. Chris' fingers clutched at Torrent's hoodie as he struggled against him, and gace a choked scream
"ALi!!!"
Torrent buried his face into his friend's shoulder, feeling the full extent of the pain Chris felt.
He knew they couldnt stay here for much longer. Chris' breakdown had caught a bit of attention in this crowded area.
"Come on, we cant help her now..." He pushed his weight against Chris, heading toward the door.
" NO! ALi! Please, oh God, ALi!"
And her eyes lifted.
They rested on him for a moment. Those dull, lifeless, mismatched eyes held his tearful gaze.
A spark. The rekindling of a fire.
ALi's tattered ears slowly shifted forward, her head lifting.'
