An entry of mine for a much older competition which didn't go quite up to scratch because it took too many liberties from the theme.

The theme was aptly titled '1000 words' because a picture says a thousand words. So we were shown a picture and we were to write a song based on the picture. The picture is of a person leaning against a tree in a field filled with lillies. While all the other entrants wrote slow, melancholic songs. I went with a 70's prog pop rock tune, mixing classic instrumentations, a couple of fitting synthy pop sounds and a rock arrangement.

*Pokes to post his entry as well*

(Yes, I know that there's a song from the FF series by the same name. It's a coincidence, I assure you. I just merely romanji-ized the name of the contest and ended up with that.)

I love this one Joan. I also would like to point out that mine was NOT melencholy.

ShootingStar Says:

ooh! It sounds so beautiful! it sounds in the beginning like a background music to a game and with 02:50
something it sounds like a soundtrack to a anime tv-serie or something in that style!

Ouklae Says:

Nice, very soothing and a good change to your other songs. For some reason it has a game feel to me as well, since the first part would probally fit in nicely as an emotional sceen or 'flashback' in Ogre Battle 64...the second could be more of the 'lets get the bad guy' or the 'self discovery' part of any other RPG.

Machete Says:

A picture caused this? WoW. Excellent. At around 11:07 the player froze up on me..But I absolutely love all the melodies, and stuff..the drums...your drums are astounding. Wish I had them..hahaha. Anyways, awesome job once again. I will have to leave some more comments tomorrow...when I have some more free time. Awesome!
