Asymmetric

Held in the greedy eyes of hundreds,
The gentle hands of another,
Each finger a razor of the hand that holds my heart,
Each glance pushes me another eternity away.
Cold and catatonic. Skeptic. Paranoid,
And every step closer, each blind and trusting step,
Just drives the dagger deeper.

I am incarnate emotion
Crafted to this shape that holds my soul,
Resurrected in different form.
Like the severed flower,
Ornate in lapsing mortality,
Words wilting in so much symmetry
As any writ before.
Anachronism of some ancient embrace,
Each a narcissistic derision,
Contemptuous and proud.
Jealous and antagonized, no retribution
Can return what was never mine.

I wish that no one else knew your taste,
Your whispered thoughts, or warm embrace.

Trying to understand, to bridge the void,
Between my world and yours,
Dementia and dismal truth.
Through different eyes I'd love the lies,
But bitterness resides all the same.
Impossible to tell you anything
You haven't heard before,
Show you exactly how this feels,
Or exactly what I mean.
Each word I breed from this liar's mouth
Cannot give true meaning to anything,
Half-dead and delimited before existence.

Derelict, naive, and intoxicated
By some blessed madness,
Drunk on divinity defined,
Left still hallowing
That which escapes understanding,
Blinds the eyes with holy magnetism,
An ineffable and immortal goddess.
Impossible to give what deserves no words the world.

Yeah.
I've just been owned.
