Who are you to define art?
I've seen a lot of things on the internet. Some things that confuse me, even scare me, but I have never seen anything more selfish or disgusting than some people who populate Deviant Art and even here. See, there are many people who draw things and submit them here and on DA that are not what a majority of people would call normal. They can appear strange, ridiculous, even twisted to most people, but the people who submit these pieces consider them art, which is not wrong. We are all entitled to our own opinions and preferences. But there are people who refuse to acknowledge that. People who think they have the right to say "No, what I draw is art, what you draw isn't." This, in my opinion, is what's wrong with the world today and is the bane of all society.
I've seen this mostly on Deviant Art, but it will slowly begin to build up here on Sheezy Art. People will go to the user pages of people who have a 'strange' interest and, instead of allowing this person to continue on their way, feel the need to insult this person and make them feel bad about themselves. They consider their art 'wrong' and refuse to let it be acknowledged as art, even if there are many people who share this strange interest. I think this is disgusting and almost racist. How is it almost racist? I will tell you.
Most of (if not all)the people who have these odd interests have them for seemingly no reason. When asked why they like these things, they usually reply by saying that they don't know, they just do. I've seen a lot of this stuff, so I think it's quite obvious that these people don't choose to have these interests. Much like homosexuals, lesbians and bisexuals, they are born with this sort of mindset, or it develops involuntarily as they grow up. So it is not through any fault of their own, but they are still persecuted for it. This is what makes it seem like racism.
It is wrong for anyone to define art for the whole world. Art is something that varies between almost everyone everyone in this world. But there are people who will not let people who like things that are considered bizarre to be called art. They do not realise the amount of effort that is put into the picture simply because the content is not in their interest.
Now, I'm not saying people should like all art. If you see something that weirds you out, just don't look at it anymore and forget about it. Having to insult the artist and ridicule him is uncalled for. You don't have to like the art, just acknowledge that this person and others do like it, and he is entitled to share his interest hopefully with others who have it or are willing to accept it. You can make something and call it art, who are you to say when someone can't?

That is so true.

Well said.
I have had a problem with a couple of people over on DA who deemed it their right to define whether or not my art was really art or not.
Art, I feel, can be anything as long as the emotions (and work) are put into it. It may not make sense, and it may seem that anything can be considered art when put into that context, but if it makes one happy to do something artistic, then one should continue on doing so.

Yeah, I still don't know why there is a reason that people are getting their stuff blown over just cause it's something like that. What's ironic is that there's a whole gallery for fetish.
StarGazerAngel Says:
We already have had a problem on SheezyArt with one particular user that shall remain nameless. They have presently been reported for harrassment to multiple users.
And it's sad that the world works like that. No one is forcing these people to view our art. If you don't like the thumbnail, don't click the rest. If you don't like the rest, don't say anything. We don't want to hear your empty critizism.

I swear, if you ahowd this to those fuckers at DA, you'd get so banned.
Good call, Eno. I approve.
vladetuczekovski Says:
So true. Art is an expression of emotion, so basically anything you draw/write/animate could be considered art. It's all pretty much up to the creator to decide whether it is art or not.
Ataru Says:
True. true.
Korota Says:
I couldn't have said it better myself. I can't understand the reasoning behind doing this kind of thing. I mean, when I see something on someone's site that makes me go 'ewww', I don't go and tell them that it's sick or something. I just don't look at that pic anymore, or if all the stuff on there is like that, I don't look at that person's stuff. It's that simple.
