I decided to combine two completely unique works of art, Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, and Boris Vallejo's Centaur and His Mate. This piece is an interesting juxtaposition of old and new as well. On one hand I have da Vinci's extremely well known classical artwork. On the other hand I have Vallejo's work which is a decidedly modern piece, however, it has more in common with classical art than is readily apparent. Everyone knows who Leonardo da Vinci is, so I do not think it is necessary to introduce him. Boris Vallejo, however, I believe needs some explanation. Boris was born in Peru in 1941, and he immigrated to the US in 1964. He then became one of the most renound fantasy artists in the world. Perhaps his most famous work is the movie poster for National Lampoon's Vacation.
