A concept illustration, for a story my dad would tell us as children. Now that I'm older, I'm finally grasping the strange morbidity, and also positive aspects he wove into a rabbit, a bear, and painted stones. I think that's what I tried to put into this picture, and the overall character designs. I'm going to make this book one day.
Done on heavy cardstock, used brush and nibs with white acrylic, coloured/black ink, and watercolour.
