"Tsuana, get your gear, I think it be time to take you and Gregory back to the mainland."
"But father, last time was%u2026" Gregory began to protest. Last time he had been accidenly revealed to a human hunting party and had been chased until exhaustion to get back to Dorin. the hunters had been intimidated with the whole family of demons in the one polace. Dorin and Michael fierce seasoned hunters themselves who were protecting one of their own. the humans had goen back to the village without further trouble. One young demon was easy prey, three were avoided.
"An accident. One we shall be careful not to repeat. Besides, you're both past the age of initiations, I'm sure a hunting expedition isn't too much to bear."
Tsuana and Gregory's eyes lit up and they both exchanged glances. Dorin commanded silence with his presence but he loved his sons dearly. "Get your cloaks now, unless you be wanting to stay here." Two half-demons scrambled to fetch their cloaks and boots, eager to leave the island for a change of pace. Fors Tsuana it would only be her second time in her short life.
Once on the boat, the first of the contests began.
"I'm going to get a hare!" Tsuana boasted.
"Well, I'm going to get ten hares!" Gregory retorted.
"Well then, I shall get a wolf!"
"I'll get a stag!"
"I shall get a bear!"
"Well I'll%u2026 umm%u2026 Damn." Gregory thoroughly beaten, slumped his shoulders in the boat continuing to row.
Dorin smiled despite himself, "And how do you suppose we cart all those animals home?"
Tsuana smiled wickedly, "We'll float them over on Gregory's ego, it's big enough."
Dorin howled and Gregory tried to hold in his laughter, he playfully punched Tsuana in the shoulder.
An hour later, they had made it the Mainland and started sorting gear and preparing new slips. They followed Dorin's game trail from two days before to check the existing line that may have contained their meat, but after the fourth severed trap, it was apparent that someone had discovered the trail.
"Bastards%u2026" Dorin muttered and continued on.
All was silent until a noise like a slight creaking and a sharp gust of wind broke the woodland serenity. Eyes pointed towards Tsuana, who was already wandering off the path. She looked back, "What? I though we came out here to hunt." Then disappeared for but a moment before returning with a plump young hare. "I hear something up ahead."
Dorin tipped his mouth to his sons ear, "I'd be weary boy, you've picked a live one."
Gregory widened his eyes a fraction and nodded back, not fully comprehending, and was about to say something in reply when a startled scream shattered the thought.
Running swiftly up the path, Gregory and Dorin came to a clearing when one lone man stood over Tsuana, her hooded cape a meter away on the ground, wings in a low arch and tail twitching in fear. she was being held by her long red hair, almost frozen in fear. She had been sheltered her whole life and now on this her seventeenth year, she couldn't think on what to do to escape. How could anyone do this to her? She had done no hard to anything save for the rabbit she had come to hunt.
"Leave her be!" Cried Gregory in madness, and tried to come to her aide, but was swatted out of the way by the butt of a broadsword. Dorin had seen the like before, a shadow edge, a rare make, a lavender tinted blade that was tempered to such a fashion that it was deathly poisonous.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm doing the world a favor." Sneered the dark hared human. He moved his sword in such a way that he would sever the girl's jugular, but however many years experience he had, couldn't possibly of compared to Dorins. Dorin grabbed the man and pulled. Even as the sword lowered towards his intended victim, it was going to be close, almost too close. Tsuana shrieked, cowering into the fetal position holding her face, writhing around the ground in jerking movement that send shivers through Gregory's heart. "Tsuana!!" He cried and rushed to his would-be lover's side, almost completely oblivious to his father who was in the middle of a sword fight with their new enemy. Gregory tried to do something to help Tsuana, but she still held her face in a death grip and eerily enough, although she still moved around spazmatically, she was no longer making any sound. "Tsuana%u2026" he whispered again and looked from his fallen friend to the two men fighting. His face bore a look which he had never made before, his heart unable to bear the alien emotion growing inside. He had never in his twenty years of life experienced unmeasured hatred, nor hatred at all, and after only ten seconds, the feeling seemed to form like volcano bile. He was about to erupt%u2026

Oh dear...that's sad!
I adore the outfits you have them wearing, though...and I guess that answers my tailoring question!
BTW, I'm wondering exactly what happened between Tsuana's birth and this point, how she got to the community of "demons"...
