"I saw an Angel"

I met an angel once,
But hidden were her wings;
She appeared as any other would
No cloud, no harp, no strings.
I met her on a Friday,
She took me to her home.
Chose not to live in heaven apparently,
Her house was just down the road.
She wore no special robes
And had an Earthly name,
Told me she's not an angel;
But I believe it all the same.
To some she may look ordinary
But to me it seems, she glows
Especially when she does that smile
With the wrinkle of her nose.
I don't know if I'll see her again
After all the tears and sighs
But damn it, she was an angel,
I could see it in her eyes.

Someone very close has a new life in their family - I'm not even really a part of it but it just made me think about a lot of things and how mindblowing yet heartswelling it would be to hold someone you helped create in your hands. I can't describe how I imagine it to be, just that it must be one of the best feelings on Earth. This poem is totally unrelated but just something that came to me, expect more mature sounding stuff soon.
