Never have been that good at designing futuristic spacecraft, but I decided to give it a whirl. No, its no mighty battleship, nor steadfast heavy cruiser, not even a carrier. Its a light defense destroyer.
Has 44 secondaries in 11 quad mounts. Secondaries are medium to short ranged energy based anti missile and anti small craft weapons. Quick firing and easy to track with they can pour out a hellish amount of firepower in little time, but their relatively light damage per shot makes them weak for capital ship combat.
For fleet battles it also has 5 class C primaries in 3 turrets and 2 fixed positions. Primaries are meant for medium to long ranged combat against heavy craft. Slower firing then secondaries they also are slower to aim, but their ability to overcome heavy shields and armor make them invaluable in combat. A class C primary is an energy/kinetic hybrid, using electromagnets to propel a small kinetic penetrator round along a tight path of energy particles. The energy discharge, while fired at the same as the penetrator, travels faster and impacts the enemy first, causing damage to armor and shields before the kinetic hits. Along the way the particles also help push the penetrator, increasing its speed.
The Tallos hull is considered over-engineered, having many more redundant systems and hull supports then medium cruisers, which is fortunate because the ship has the weak armor of a destroyer and the same speed profile as a battlewagon in both normal and super luminous space.
