Part of my IB Art collection
Silk painting based on the Thai faerie tale of Manohra, a Kinaree (bird-person) princess who married a human prince when he took away her wings. When he went away to war, the jealous court advisors told the people she was a witch and must be burned. Before she was put on the fire, she asked if she could have her wings back to do the traditional death-dance of her people. She got her wings, started to dance- and flew away. (PWNED, evil advisors!)
It's one of my favourite stories ever.
