We are the keepers of secrets…Selene's Eyes… Gaia's silent protectors.
"Get… AGH!! Get away from me!!" A guttural tone tore through the young man's lips, a gagging sound taking hold of his voice… The words were barely comprehensible. What was going on? Pain… Oh God the pain, it hurt so damn much. It tore through him like raining fire, it felt like his entire body was splitting. Bones and muscles rearranging within his very form. He vomited… Right then and there, the remnants off his dinner emptying from his stomach. Crouched in a kneeling position, slender fingers raked against the dark, sable strands, tearing against the silken tresses. "GET AWAY!!" He shrieked once more. "Nee-san! No!! Something's wrong! We have to get you to a hospital!" Cried a girl, roughly the age of ten. The boy? …Only thirteen… It was the change, the change that took all of his kind at the start of puberty. "I… Said…" The boy groaned, tears coming to his eyes streaming down his dirty cheeks. What of the youth's parents? Sound asleep… He had staggered into the house after another, strange, late night wandering. The drifting had become more frequent, and his parents became even more paranoid that their son could be possibly sleepwalking, and made attempts to lock the doors more securely. That… Failed. The youth's body trembled violently, he was afraid… So very afraid. What was going on? He couldn't fathom what would soon take place, let alone what his mind would clench upon. All he knew at that point… Was that whomever was around him, was going to die. Dark, almost black, eyes darted this way and that in convulsions, unable to focus upon his surroundings. "Get…Get away…" The boy choked out, this time a dribble of life flow spilled down the boy's lips.
"Nee-san!!" The girl screamed again and rushed forward to assist her older brother. Abruptly, the dark hues became cattish, slitted like some sort of feral beast… The dark tones no longer sable, but instead a hellish molting gold. Seeping past the boy's lips, a feline snarl rumbled deep within his throat, which wracked the house. The boy's right hand abruptly pushed forward as the child of ten ran for him. A sickening splintering sound was heard as clawed digits ripped through flesh like tissue paper. Feral talons shredding through flesh, bone, and muscle alike. "Nee…Nee-san… Naze…?" Choked a soft whisper from the female who was now impaled. Heavy, shaky breaths left the boy as he stared mercilessly into the other's gaze. This overwhelming hate and rage boiling deep within him, churned. Humans… They were filth… They deserved to die… Though when the gagged words left the girl, tiny hands grasping onto the slender wrist that plunged through her midsection… The boy's eyes abruptly widened and a shriek of terror akin to that of a wild cat howl slipped past his lips. "IIEEEE!! KANA!!" Eyes riveted upon the dying form of his sister, the boy choked out in pain once more. It hurt… Everything hurt so bad… His body, it continued to contort from the searing twinges. Frightened eyes stared on in disbelief… He had slaughtered his sister. "KANA!! KANA-Chan!! Wake up!! Wake up!!" He screamed, not having the sense to pull away his hand that was plunged deep within the girl's midsection. "Please! Don't be dead!!" He cried out, though no answer came forth from the child.
Wide cat-like eyes stared on in disbelief, what had he just done?? What had he done!? His sister… Kana… Though before the boy could even register what had happened in its entirety, a loud bang was heard, his bedroom door slammed open. "K-Kana-chan…" The youth choked out however as the door opened, light filtering in through the hall, the boy's gaze came to settle upon his guardians. The hallway's illumination cast an eerie radiance along the golden hues, a strange film covering them in a way a wild animal's would caught by moonlight. "Otou-san… Kaze-san…" Scarlet life flow pooled about the youth's frame, soaking the boy and the floor with the innocent essence. The woman at the male's side suddenly screamed, her cries of terror rippling through the household like some sort of siren. "Bakemono!! YOU monster!!!" The woman screamed. "Kaze…san…" The youth choked out, little did he know his body had strangely morphed, his body… Not quite feline, however not quite human either. Vestigial whiskers sprouted from just beside the youth nose. Tiny, irregular stripes having taken to the being's pale white flesh. What had happened to their child? …No, this was not their child. "BAKEMONO!!" The woman screamed again, the youth's eyes widened. "Kaze-san…" He whispered silently, tears coming to his eyes, threatening to spill over his lower lids. A sudden gag left the boy's lips as a strong hand violently took to throttling him. The boy's hand tore from the girl's corpse, which in turn caused the girl to fall to the floor. Slender fingers reached up clutching at the man's wrists that had seized him. "Otou-san… Stop… Stop… Onegai!!" He cried out, clawed fingers tearing into the man's appendages, it only caused him to choke even more.
Metallic, golden hues crept away from his assaulter, the man had said nothing to him, to his lifeless sister. The woman, their mother, dropped to her knees cradling the little girl, rocking back and forth, every now and then a scream of 'monster' or 'nekomata' would leave her lips. "You monster!! You monster! You killed her!! You wretched demon!! YOU KILLED HER!!" The woman's words resounded deeply within the boy's mind as he found himself threatening to fall into his own dark slumber. However… A strange voice lit his mind. I am here… Do not fear me… Awaken… Or choose death… What shall it be? Do you choose life? …Or do you choose death? Awaken my son… Awaken and find your true path… A sudden gasp of air left the boy and the slitted hues turned vicious. "Shine…" The boy whispered beneath his breath, before he knew it, silverish-white and black fur rippled along his slender body. Cupped, blunt ears appeared, rooting from the base of the boy's skull slicked back only to rest against the striped pelt that had taken over his frame. Clothing ripped to shreds, now laid about the floor as the hulking beast awoke from its slumber. The man, gasped his hands jerking back from the furred neck of the large beast that stood before him, while still not mature-the fiend was quite large. Golden eyes, riveting upon the man before him watched for several silent moments, though this soon turned sour. The tiers of the creature's mouth pulled back and a row of ivory fangs exposed, a furious wild-cat howl left the beast. This fool… Would die for trying to kill him… This human, this pathetic, lowly, pawn of the Wyrm would soon cease to exist. Without further questioning, a heavy paw pressed forth, violently tearing toward the man's frame. The speed and force placed behind the strike, was unfathomable. The clawed appendages tore through the being's frame, raking down the man's face, chest and ultimately his abdomen. Guts and entrails spilled through the gaping wound that had been created, immediately the man dropped to the ground, though thanks to the force was slammed against the wall. Life flow streaked down the surface of the manila wall, the fiend's father was quickly silenced by a painful death. The blow alone was enough to kill the man. As the 'monster' stood in rage, its sulfur hues seemed to be captivated by the murder alone. Perhaps… Just perhaps if the woman remained silent… She could have survived the raging inferno.
"IIE!! You… You…" The stammered words echoed within the silent room, though a single curved ear flicked back, focusing upon the crying woman's sounds. Slowly the beast's furry head shifted over his shoulder, only to come to rest upon the delirious female. Soon enough, the woman's life ended… Scarlet essence splattered across the floor and walls, coating the barriers' surface. The female fell to the floor, mangled in a heap beside the child that she had been cradling. As for the lycanthrope, the creature gave a soft chuffing noise, as it peered upon its prey's bodies. But, something caught the creature's attention, its head swiveling toward the doorway. Standing before the fiend, a tall, muscular form, its lips parted and soothing words issued forth. "Come, my son… Come. I shall teach you… Our ways..."
And, he did… He taught me their ways. The ways of the Bastet. The were-cat, creatures of the Moon Mother, creatures of magick, of mystery, and rage. The sacred creatures that hide amongst Selene's heavenly rays, protecting, guiding, and teaching. When will you rage?
