Rusted Corners of the Mind

CanNOT sleep - to sleep is to die
CANnot wake, for their eye, yes their eye
it ALWAYS sits upON the mantleplace
ALWAYS do I see their GROtesque face

Tried to, two? TWO watching me
Always STARE-ing, all do thEY see
Sea? from the sea! Aye, voices come
hear all often - hear often SOME

SPOKE, poke? Poked their patience
did not WAIT for thEIR own lenience
ANGER-y, tangibly, touching face
and should-err, should - slowed my pace

Bleeding now, knife on floor
SOMEone, one? knockING on door
Silly silly, bad dog, interupter
sacrifice canNOT suffer disrupter

Paling now, ling? Linger? No.
mustn't linger, they say so
Feeling cold, clammy handed ones
home I GO, to darkly Olden Ones

My obsessive nature has once more taken firm foothold.. although I must admit that this time around it has set its sights on an issue that has long since been deeply buried in the back of my mind.

I have returned to the root of my main character's birth: Dread Cthulhu. Once more do the words "R'lyeh", "I'a! Dagon!" and "Cthulhu fhtagn!" echo within the black depths of my sentience, alongside the gutteral language of the Yithian race.

Once more do I study the histories and tales of other great writers who are equally seduced by this alien race and their world, seeking to further my own creative whim for my own Yithian mistress.

Once more do I desire a shoggoth for a pet, or to share a cup of tea drunken from the carved out head of a non-believer with Nyarlathotep.

You might judge my mentality as unstable for these wishes of mine.. or you might find them understandable, admirable, or downright humorous. Whatever you might dare to think, these thoughts are there.. and for me to ignore them would be to deny the existance of the character whom I have diligently nurtured and bred for over five to six years now.

And so it is that I bring you the musings of a man whose mind is slowly being carved into ribbons by those whom he foolishly sought to know, with the audacity of considering that they should come to him.

..I'a Mieles! May the Old Ones reign once more..
