Well, with all the FF7 and 9 stuff, I should not forget my second favorite FF game (6 scores the same place as 9 actually).
So, here's a rather rough and quick painting of Celes from Final Fantasy 6 on the shore. Featuring the one and only, looking like every other moogle, but one and only Mog! (whom I actually cropped out of another painting I was working on and copied hin here because the other picture sucked. At least as it is now. Gotta work on that too)
Might appear a little weird anatomically to some people not familiar with Amano's designs for the game, but I thought it would be a good idea to at least somehow stick to his proportions if not doing something Amano-styled for the rest of the picture. So all skinny, tall and somewhat fragile looking. I guess it doesn't collide with the otherwise somehow realistic look too badly (and it was fun trying out this).
Orientated at Celes' drawing by Amano for the outfit a little, no other reference though.

nice complimentary color scheme. But if I may offer up a little bit of critique...the main figure's clothing is so close to the hue and value of the sky behind it that some of the edges almost get lost in a quick glance of the painting. The only reason I say this is because you have such an obvious talent for anatomy and proportion of a figure, you might as well make it pop off the page. flaunt what you are good at, no reason to keep it THIS subtle in my humble opinion. That being said, the picking of colors is very minor in compared to how strong this work is, or how much effort went into it.

I think that the one thing FFVI was lacking was graphic detail...the plot, story line, music was all great...but being from so long ago, there wasn't enough technology to make it as gorgeous as your art. I love the fact that you borrowed it from Amano's drawing in the guide and made it much more real. If only you were there when the game was made, it could have been perfect! (Not that it isn't already). Celes is my fave character in the game!! Great job! (Although I do agree the horizon is a little too low.)
