Watari Drabble
Darkness. His eyes were opened, but still, all he saw was darkness. A swallowing, darkness. A pain in his knee, shooting up his spin as he struggled to move in the darkness, but he wasn%u2019t able too. All he could do was watch the legs of others around him, splashing happily%u2026unknowingly. Slowly, he felt himself floating to the top. There were some loud noises, shouting which now only sounded like distant bird calls. Birds%u2026trying to help him? Silly birds, he smiled to himself, as he saw a small owl sit next to him, whispering to him that things would be okay. He could hear his favorite song playing as he started to feel himself%u2026leaving? He supposed that%u2019s what he was feeling, but what was he leaving? Where was he going?
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night.
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise%u2026
%u201CYutaka Watari? Hello?%u201D
He heard someone calling his name and slowly%u2026slowly, he opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was a bright light and he was forced to close his eyes again. The smile fled from his lips as his eyes gave him a painful reminder that they needed time to adjust. Once more, squinting against the light, he opened his eyes. %u201CHello?%u201D

That, I would believe, is a Paul-song.
It's one of John's favourites.
