Our Sins

Away in the night
Where moonlight brightens our path.
A path in which we walk to safety
as we're being chased
by sins that we have left behind.

They cower behind us
as we run toward ones that await.
Surrounded by sins, no good will come.
We forever will be chained
to the ground by each our own.

Crowded by darkness
The shadows won't lift.
They've painted over our souls
and tainted us evil.
All that we have left
Is to do nothing but sin.

Each action a deception of truth
Lies is all that we speak.
When we have been left alone
to try our hardest to atone

The shadows will consume our soul.
Before we have a chance to make up for
the lives that we have taken.
The promises that we have broken.

The hope for us is thin.
The prays we're given are few.
The light we see, it's dimming.
The two of us now know
that our lives were nothing but a show.

Each show must have an end.
An end of darkness bestowed upon us
As the curtain falls, and our lives cut short.
We fall slowly to the ground.
Covered in our sins.
