Josephine used to be a nerd in Celluloid City High School and a friend to Clarentine Original, but she was always teased by all the other students. Unfortunately, due to peer pressure, Clarentine had to, at the least, chuckle along. This lowered Josephine's already dwindling self-esteem to the point where she just stopped going, even though she was up for salutatorian...

While out of high school, Josephine was actually contemplating suicide, when she learned of a beauty/modeling school of sorts where she could become "beautiful and famous". Josephine jumped at the idea and went to study with them.

A few years later, a newer, fresher Josephine entered the Miss Celluloid City Competition, competing against many others including her former friend Clarentine Original-Classic. After the contest, Josephine Swanson won 1st place and went on the fame and glory of modeling/acting/singing/etc. The fame, however, went to her head and now she's an arrogant, power hungry.....uhm....(female dog) and thinks everyone has a price, including Clarentine's husband, Calvin Classic. She'll stop at nothing to get him, even if it means joining up with Classic's foe, Norton "New-Age" Newburg.
