Ok. FINALLY I got off my ass and decided to do this song.
And I'm REALLY happy with it. In fact, I like the way this came out most out of my songs. Just wait until I get off my lazy ass and make "Suffocation," and "My Victory." Cuz those songs are hawt.

So anyway, this is Sierra Phoenix's theme song, "Lullaby of Lamenting Souls," but I usually just call it, "Lullaby," or "Sierra's Lullaby."
The name's symbolism is as follows:

Lullaby:
Sierra has always wanted children. However, she is barren, and cannot give birth. It's said that she's gone completely insane and hallucinated 2 children into life with her sorcery. It's also said that she kidnaps children from towns when they never return and vanish into think air or die in her posession because her punishment for her sorcery was to never be allowed a child.
Whatever the case, Sierra has strangely powerful maternal instincts, and a obscure obsession with lullabies.

Lamenting Souls: To lament is to cry out or wail, which is what Sierra always wishes to do, but conceals it within herself. She is also almost completely emotionless; she cannot smile, frown, scream, cry, ect genuinely. However, she has become a master of the masks, and often conveys those emotions in acting, although they are still often very blank and distant.

She's also a sorceress, so I needed dark, sorcery-ish music. Dark, sorceress like lullaby music.
With the fear element.
On top of EVERY other emotion that Sierra portrays from me, she is my strongest symbol of fear. This is why the song is eerie and spooky and stuff.

Now, there's another version of this song I've written, like a remix, that's shorter, only vocals, and has more verses. That's the actual lullaby that Sierra's nanny used to sing her to sleep with. If I ever post that, I'll post the lyrics with it.

Please listen to the entire song, as I worked VERY hard on this, and I'm very pleased with how it has finished.

Tigerhawk Says:

Oh, very nice. I really like the soft touches. I was actually working on something with how the beginning starts off. Quite odd lol but lovely piece and a wonderful story to go with it.

Tikara the Mew Says:

stylisedstar Says:

Wonderfull! I like how you did the sparse composition, very engrossing. I'm intrigued by your character now.

DrThallium Says:

good job. I am proud of you that you took this major step into accoustic composition. Keep up the good work, and remember, make sure to write it so musicians like us can realize your work. You are now working your way on the path of the composer, and through your continued effort and experimentation, you can explore beyond the limits of your current perception. Build up a portfolio with your work, and proudly show it to any who might teach you more than you know.

You have started this path far earlier than I have, so you might just excell beyond me when you reach my age.

My three words of recommendation: Just keep writing.

DarKsidE Says:

Woah, over one year of development? As for that it came out very nice. Sad and dark ambient track with much variety in. Nothing to complain here. I guess you "beta" tested it more than enough for errors.

Keep it up!

Cyril Says:

*sniffs* This is very, very sad sounding, although I guess that could have been left unsaid.

I love your trend to work with the latin percussion. You use it well, and it definately adds to the piece's emotion in most cases. I feel sad, I wish I had half the talent you do at composing, but it could be the song that is inspiring my emotion.

Very good again. I feel like a robot when I say that, but I can't really say much else!

FAVED AGAIN! WOOT!

The Karret Says:

... X_x you're killing me with your awesome composing skills you are...

DJKID Says:

All have you know I love this so much I just stole it off the page and put it on my iPod ;
