Arod (the wolf) started out as a croc character, but he got changed into a white wolf. Don't ask me how, long story. Anyway, he fooled around and wound up with three lovers... and kids. Having hurt and betrayed the ones he loves, he decided to leave and go elsewhere... maybe live like a hermit in a mountain or something, he didn't know. After setting out, however, he was attacked and killed...
Nicca (the raccoon) is one who loved him, and having a kind of necrotechnology available; she was able to revive him. Alas though, there's nothing left for him on earth... he has only to move on.
