Here is one of the baby alligators at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. I volunteered there for three years before I moved to Arkansas.
When I worked at the Academy, there were five baby alligators. Here's one of the bigger ones. When they got older, they were going to be sent to other wildlife sanctuaries and zoos since the Academy can't accommodate full size alligators. As babies though, they were easy to handle, and were used for education programs.

One time when I was at a pet shop in the flea market. I saw somone selling a baby gator. I told that guy about the gator that was put his baby gator into Cox Arberitum national park so the employees had to put string cages so the little one doesn't escape. Right now that gator was taken to the Cincinnati Zoo which is a good idea.
Of course I didn't really want to buy that gator since I can't easily accommodate at full size and too dangerous as pit bull dogs.
