So here's the story behind this picture:
King Gudrod wanted to marry Aasa, but her father, king Harald, didn't agree. So Gudrod got angry, attacked king Harald, killed him and carried away a great booty and Aasa too. After a few years she paid him back by sending her page-boy to kill him with a spear. >:>
According to common belief, Aasa is buried in Oseberg and her grave is the richest burial known in Scandiavia (so far).
Used many references for this, a lot of time and nerves and I'm still not happy AT ALL how the blending and background turned out..
Any suggestions and comments very apprechiated!

First, congrats on the "Featured Art"!

Second, is that a real story? Very interesting, and if so I would love to learn more!
Thirdly, what I like is that you manage to express the horror of what's happened without making an excessive show of the blood. The contrast of the expressions on the two figures' faces does the job quite nicely. Gudrod's eyes are so vacant and that expression so helpless that in contrast with that almost megalomaniacal calm of Aasa's it creates a really chilling effect--and this without having to dwell excessively on the blood and gore. That gives it a much greater impact than those kinds of pictures.
Great work and congratulations once again!
