Creation: Good, better, best

In the beginning, there was earth, fire, and water. For a moment infinitely long, it was good. It would still be good, but for the nature of fire which is to move, and the nature of water once moved which is to change, and the nature of earth to be changed, and in it to change itself.

After that moment so infinitely long, it was not enough. In places the earth began to crack and shatter. In places the water began to sizzle and steam. In places the earth began to fall, and slowly so slowly to run. In places water shivered, then no longer lapped. In places earth shattered and cracked. In places both bubbled and both burst.

Fire was everywhere and nowhere to be seen. For many moments it was good, but then it was no longer enough. There was no earth to be seen, not any more. There was no water to be seen, not any more. There had been no fire to see, not for a long time. In this place and every place, all there was WAS clay.

The clay ran like water and ran like earth. The clay stilled like water to harden like earth. In every place but those that did not, clay still bubbled and burst. Into this came the first eyes to see. They were not made, as the earth was not made, as the water was not made, as the fire was not made. Those three were, for forever in the moment that time stopped as it passed.

Like clay, like fire, like water, like earth, the eyes to see made themselves. They were the first of life. Following after were the feet to travel, the teeth to take, and finally, the womb to breed. For the first time, something made.

To make it needed the eyes to see, the feet to travel, the stomach to take, and the clay from which all was made. For a time, it was good. It would still be good, and is still good, but for that which was made. Better was made out of good. Better than that was that with a mind to think.

Mind did not simply make, mind imagined. Mind made what was not. Mind made what clay could not. Once it was made, imagined, it could be made. Could be, but didn't. Mind imagined what clay to make to shape what clay had made. In time, mind imagined it could be. So mind waited. In time, from the clay, came hands to shape. All was in place.

What mind made hands could shape and what hands shaped wombs could breed. For a moment, a moment infinitely short, all was better than it once had been. Mind had been busy, though. From better mind had imagined best. Better was no longer enough.

Good was truly alone. Better was alone, aside from the good it had once been, the good which had once been better itself. Better went forward, since eyes saw forward and legs marched forward and teeth ate what lie before them and the womb bred more to do all this. Best existed only among non-best.

How fortunate, that the first mind was not alone. Womb had been busy as well. Mind made more and made better and marched towards best, and in time ran out of clay. Mind imagined what hand shaped which womb took and made to make itself anew, and mind wonder what hand could still shape, so mind took what wombs had made and used hand to shape it again to be made again and it never, ever, stopped.

No best was ever reached because mind would take best, and make better than what was once best, and best would never be best again. In time, man made himself and imagined himself best. But man could never be best, because man could never be alone among other men. So man took man and made them men, so that one could never see the difference between them. But the mind of man was better than the rest and still wanted best. So man made God.

God by its very definition better than best, and so things got a lot more boring. When even best thinks that something is better, why bother being best? Each end made more and pushed farther and allowed a new end, but the %u2018true%u2019 end was now and forever out of reach. But hand cannot shape God, womb cannot breed God, teeth cannot taste God, eye cannot see God, and not even mind can prove that God exists. So why not strive to become best once more?

This is a little creation myth that I wrote for fun. If I remember correctly, I was hallucinating a bit when I wrote the first draft. Some sleeping pills have chemicals similiar to cocaine, I needed my sleep, and that inspiration thing just wouldn't shut up.

OR

Insomniac rambling disguised as a combination of verbal and philisophical masturbation, seeking the tail of the snake that ate itself and getting distracted somewhere along the way. To be warned, Ouroboros probably missed a few loops along the way, either skipping or never eating them at all. Makes more sense if you add the italics, because you can point out the difference between something and the same thing.

P.S. Small dip into pseudo-anti-religion should or should not be ignored, depending on whether you believe that it is or is not true. The reasons are thus:

One, I am always right even when I am wrong, because I meant to be wrong in the first place as a device to contrast the searing truth of what came before or after said wrongness.

Two, because it needed to be ended and this had a small semblance of gracefullness.

P.S.S. This is a piece of shit, even if it's amusing shit. It's not even formatted. BY NO MEANS SHOULD YOU TAKE IT FOR A TYPICAL EXAMPLE OF MY WRITING. Just my sense of humor.
